Scientific facts found in paleontology, biology, geology, and astronomy, pose strong evidence for Evolution making it seem like the only logical answer as to how life evolved. The ideas found in “The Book of Genesis” have made great controversy of whether Creationism is true, or if we should solely rely on the scientific facts of Evolution. In the history of science vs. religion there has been many issues on the debate of Evolution vs. Creationism. This debate happens because the majority of evidence is in favor of Evolution, but because Creationism is based on religious beliefs it is hard to prove it wrong. Although there are many different beliefs and ideas on human creation, it is narrowed down into three theories: Creation Theory, Naturalistic Evolution Theory, and Theistic Evolution Theory.
All three sides create a dilemma for humans, religious and non-religious, as to which theory to support because of their many differences. Each theory is unique in providing its own evidence proving its validity, but lacks enough evidence to prove the other theories incorrect. The Creation Theory explains that a certain God created the humans, and Evolution does not exist. The Naturalistic Evolution Theory states that Evolution is driven by purely natural forces, and is not controlled by any input from a superior being. The Theistic Evolution Theory is a mixture of both Creation and Naturalistic Theories. The Theistic Evolution Theory states that God created the world and guides the evolution process (Robinson, 2011).
The Essay on Public Schools Theory Evolution Evidence
In my humble opinion, I think public schools have the right to teach about anything they want. Hence the word "public" schools, parents should have that authority as to whether or not they want their child to attend a school where teachings can get disobedient to their religious belief or not. That's why there is a private school. Anybody can believe in God. But, when there is an answer to a ...
When trying to explain the concept of Evolution, most people become confused because it is hard for scientists to communicate to the general public and also because there is confusion between scientists themselves. More people vaguely believe in the Naturalistic Evolution Theory, not because they know every answer to how humans have evolved, but simply because they are taught that there are more facts that have not been disproven. While evolution is a fact, it is also a theory, and facts and theories are two different things. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret the facts. For example, it is a fact that humans have evolved from ape-like ancestors, but whether they did so by Darwin’s theory or by some other theory yet to be discovered, so it is still a theory. In 1993, Laurence Moran wrote “Darwin emphasized the difference between his two great and separate accomplishments: establishing the fact of evolution, and proposing a theory–natural selection–to explain the mechanism of evolution”. Even more, “Einstein’s theory of gravity was replaced by Newton’s theory of ‘what goes up must come down’ making it a fact that gravity pulls masses towards the earth’s center”, though it is still a theory as to how the laws of gravity came into effect. As a result of the massive amounts of evidence for Evolution found in history, we can conclude that evolution has occurred and continues to occur, but it is still a theory as to how the very first life forms came to live on earth.
The Creation Theory is the most unwelcoming method to understanding human creation because it is all set upon faith; many people have to “see it to believe it”, but there are still strong holders of faith who believe that “humans, as well as the rest of the natural world, were created by one or more supernatural beings or gods” (“Clarifying christianity,” 2001).
Creationism literally means looking at the Bible as the guide to the creation of the universe and to the history of all life. This meaning that, the physical universe (space, time, matter, energy, galaxies, planets, etc.), the formation of a stable water cycle, the production of plants, the atmosphere (Sun, Moon, and stars), production of sea animals and sea mammals, creation of birds, domesticated mammals and rodents, and the creation of mankind were all put on earth by a superior being (“Clarifying christianity,” 2001).

Most Creationists see the Bible, not as a science book, but scientifically accurate, only because there is no scientific evidence that contradicts the Bible. For instance, ‘The Book of Genesis, 1:11’, describes the development of living organisms from other living organisms, which is stated in the theory of Evolution. The Bible also states that each star is unique, ‘Corinthians, 15:41’, and it describes earlier forms of human ancestry in ‘Job, 30:5’ (Eddy, 2003).
These three examples are just some ways that the Bible agrees with Evolution.
Theistic Evolution is possibly the most convincing belief simply because it combines both Creationism and Evolution, and it is easier to agree with both theories of life rather than debating with others. Theistic Evolution is brought to two different views. The first view is that God may have created the building blocks and the natural laws, but at some point he stopped creating and allowed life to evolve according to his laws. In other words, He let life form the way it wanted to. The second view of Theistic Evolution is that God led life step by step from the very first organism of simple life to complex life, and that he could still be doing this today. This means that fish were the simpler animals and they turned into reptiles, which then turned into birds and mammals. Therefore, where life was not able to evolve naturally, like how a reptile’s limb could evolve into a bird’s wing naturally, God stepped in and made it work (“What is theistic,” 2010).
According to Bob Dutko, Theistic Evolution suggests that Evolution itself is a “tool of God”. Even though Theistic Evolution combines both Creationism and Evolution, doesn’t mean that it totally agrees with both theories. A difference between Creationism and Theistic Evolution is by the way a person may view the book of Genesis. Creationists view Genesis in a more literal form while Theistic Evolutionists view it in a more casual form. For example, when Theistic Evolutionists think of creation of man, it is believed that man has been evolving over millions of years from other primates until they are “human” enough for God to say “okay, we now have ‘man’, and I’ll call him ‘Adam’”. The Book of Genesis explains creation of man as “the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground”, therefore a Creationist would never believe that man came from another living organism.
The Essay on Evolution as Fact and Theory
A ‘theory’ according to American vernacular is understood as an uncertain approach to the world’s mysteries. It is seen as an idea that is not yet actually confirmed but if proven to be true, can shed light on the reasons behind certain phenomena. This vague notion of the meaning of theories is utilized by Creationists to diminish the impact of the Evolution, (Gould, 1981) dismissing it as a ‘ ...
Another difference between the two views is that in Genesis it states that Eve was created by God by taking out one of Adam’s ribs and creating Eve from that rib. This has significance to the rest of the Bible with regards to marriage, because by making woman from man, Eve was to Adam, “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”, God used this to show marriage as a bond between a man and a woman who would become “one flesh”. Compare this to Theistic Evolution, which says Eve really wasn’t created from Adam, but instead she was created just like any other mammalian baby, carried by her mother, was born and raised by her parents, then ran into Adam one day and they married each other (Dutko, n.d).
Also, The Book of Genesis states that all things were created in a seven days; Evolution requires millions of years for life to evolve. Therefore combining these two models of life together seems almost impossible.
Creationism is a well-known, and widely believed, theory of how the world came into existence, and Evolution has given many facts on existence, but neither have been completely proven. The Book of Genesis and Charles Darwin both posed two very different theories on life. The Book of Genesis and Creationism are strong holders of faith, which rejects the theory of Evolution and believes instead that the each species on earth was put here by a Divine Being. Charles Darwin, as well as other Evolutionists, bases his beliefs solely on scientific facts and that life has evolved from more simple organisms and that natural selection and environmental factors combine to explain the diversity of life we see on earth.
Theistic Evolutionists combine the theory of Evolution and the ideas of Creationism explaining to us that there is a God and he put the Evolutionary laws into motion. Creationists argue that Evolution is just a theory and it is not a proven fact. Evolutionists argue that Creationism is simply a belief, and it can never be accurate. Theistic Evolutionists look at the smaller picture of both sides and combine them, allowing God to be the superior being and Evolution to be His tool. Overall, science and religion will never be on the same page. Evolutionists will learn new facts and Creationists will always believe in their faith. Maybe in time Theistic Evolution will blend the two sides in perfect harmony and the debate will end.
The Essay on Is Evolution A Fact Or A Theory?
Is Evolution a Fact or a Theory? Both. In Darwin's day, and before, many naturalists theorized that living things were somehow related in a manner beyond that of their obvious common differences from non-living matter. These speculations, including those of Darwin, are appropriately termed theories: speculations about nature that were informed by observation and subject to test by additional ...
