Introduction
We need to get motivated all the time but we always find it hard to get out of our comfort zones and get ourselves working. We like to feel motivated but we hate the process of doing what we are supposed to be doing or finishing what we have already started. But no matter how you feel about everything around you, there are ways to stay motivated. People have different issues with motivation. Some people find it hard to begin, while others find it excruciatingly hard to finish. Both ends of the tasks are often the hardest to accomplish. It could be because the task is unpleasant, uninteresting, or lacks the thing that makes you feel motivated to get off your butt and start working. When having troubles with getting or staying motivated, follow these following rules.

Rule #1: Maintain a high level of Self-Esteem.
“To establish true self-esteem we must concentrate on our successes and forget about the failures and the negatives in our lives”. Denis Waitley.
You can drag yourself down every single day. It all begins with excuses like ‘I don’t feel good’, ‘I am not that smart’, ‘I don’t have enough faith in myself’. Then you start believing in these things and then these negative beliefs become a part of who you are. One of the best ways to keep a high level of Self-Esteem is to not give a second’s worth of recognition on these negative self-talks. Whenever you hear that part of your brain tell you things that pull you down shut it out.

Rule # 2: Have faith in yourself, in what you can do, and the things you believe in.

It doesn’t matter if you fail; everyone goes through that hurtful process. What matters is that every time you do, you bounce back, rebuild yourself, and give the world a better you. Appreciate. For successful people, failure is a teacher. It was difficult and demoralizing while they were at it. But in retrospect, there is always something that can be gained from failing. Don’t get used to failing, though. Bounce back every time you fail and refrain from doing the things that had caused you to fail before.

Learn how to manage your negative emotions – Don’t be overwhelmed by negative emotions such as the feeling of hopelessness, defeat or struggle. Trying motivational tapes is one way to help get you on the right track to being successful and having the life you want. When looking at tapes, decide in what area you are looking for help. When using the tapes be sure to follow the instructions given on the tape for the amount of time you should spend listening to them. Every day you are bombarded with negative messages. Rule #4: Compete with yourself.
“Why compare yourself with others?. No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.” Competing with others is good, but sometimes it is a way to de motivates yourself because you will start to compare yourself with others each and every time. Run your own personal race. As Wyne Dyer always says: “Row your own boat”. How many times have you heard the saying, ‘you are your worst enemy’?. Finding the thing that motivates you is one thing, it is quite another to stick with it. And even while you have already succeeded in identifying what motivates you, the temptation to give in to more convenient, easier things like procrastination are much more powerful than getting yourself up and going. If you get hook in comparing yourself with others think about it; if you look around at other people, it seems that they have it all. They have the money, the smart clothes, and the fancy houses and so on. If you keep comparing yourself to others you can soon begin to feel as if you’re some kind of failure.

Rule # 6: Do Things for compelling reasons
“Enthusiasm is one the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”. Abraham Nunez.
Do it for compelling reasons. Do the things you are doing t for a compelling cause. Do it because you are burning with passion for it. Do it because it really excites you. If it doesn’t, then make it interesting. Let’s say you have to do a task that you don’t like, find ways to make it more interesting. You will de motivate yourself very fast if what you are doing does not interest you in any way.

Rule # 7: Connect with positive people

So go out, talk to people, connect with positive people and be inspired. Understand your thoughts and how they affect your emotions and your will power. If you surround yourself with negative people you will start feeling lack of self-confidence, general negativity, lack of self-belief, procrastination and the list goes on. Try to gain positive momentum by connecting with positive people. Avoid complainers and people that put you down. Talk to people that can inspire you and can help you to fulfill your dreams.
