Can breaking the law ever be justified?
There were times in history when breaking the law was justified: great leaders like Gandhi and Martin Luther King broke the law and changed the world for the better.
Breaking the law is morally justifiable and acceptable when the law in itself is iniquitous and if that law violates human rights and conscience; Certainly, rules are established for us to follow but we as human beings should be able to differentiate the right and the wrong and incase laws need to be violated for the right cause even with hard consequences, breaking the law can be justified; considering the situations and the purposes.
Justification of the violation of laws depends on the situation, not on the rules and regulations: in certain places of the world there are extraordinary laws that might not be acceptable to all that might as well happen because of cultural diversity and diverse nature of human beings, respecting all culture’s values and norms if such rules exceed their limits one cannot sit back and ignore, therefore in such cases rules can be disobeyed. We cannot ignore the fact that in the civil wars and world wars era, the abolitionists were breaking the laws madly, which surely had a cause but the killing of innocent people and the millions of lives lost do not have an explanation and such violation in today’s era well, cannot be justified.
We have been experiencing a lot of violation of rules mainly because of political instabilities in the country: recently many teachers in Thailand are being killed by insurgents, who are mainly against Islam, protestors who find killing the best way to gain notice must be hanged to death because such violation is not at all reasonable. In case of Nepal, where people were previously suppressed: were not allowed to be educated especially women and the Ranas- the so called superior ones had the power to enjoy. In such situation one had to revolt to see peace and justice in the country. There were revolutions where many lives were lost and new lives developed ; various tough people are responsible for the better Nepal created where laws were to be violated but was for a reason and these types of violation is justifiable. The ETA which is the main organization of the Basque national liberal movement which has been responsible for killing, injuring thousand individuals and undertaking dozens of kidnappings and has been violating the rules for the independence of the greater Basque country, and such inhumane violation is not justified at all. Milf is also one of the examples of such violators who are accused of having connections with major terrorist groups of the world.
The Essay on Criminal Law
Criminal Law According to EPAGLOa, the acceptable risk is defined as level of risk judged to be outweighed by corresponding benefits or one that is of such a degree that it is considered to pose minimal potential for adverse effects (US Environmental Protection Agency, n.p.). Lets examine the potential risk for the employer based on the list of the following candidates: The candidate #1 was ...
Laws are simply human construct: someone somewhere proposed them and implemented them for a reason and sometimes these reasons are completely unjustified. Honor killing is one of the best examples for such unjustified rules where a member of a family is killed by the social groups or any other members, due to the belief of the perpetrators that the victim has brought dishonor to the family or society. Obeying blindly and blind faith are the major causes of such disgraceful activities happening in the society. Such “murders” simply are the worst violation of human rights. People surely have the right to choose for themselves but unfortunately when they do so they are simply killed. Homosexuality has also resulted to most honor killings these days. People mostly Hindus believe in shamans and willingly and unwillingly they commit serious crimes which they think is right but which actually is morally wrong and such breaching of laws are completely unacceptable. The laws try to reflect what the society deems morally correct, but what are morally correct changes over time and the laws even has to follow the suite.
Some socio cultural rules that are totally irrelevant must be breached, if not it shall create stymies for people who want to live freely. As our societies are concerned we are barely allowed to do intercaste marriages, polygamy else our fate of living or not is depicted by the society even if our family accepts it. Unjust laws do exist in the society, but that has to be removed slowly rather than protesting and making a mess out of everything. Most of the times breaking the laws becomes a must: when u go impecunious and your wife is dying because u cannot afford the drug to cure her and for that if you steal the drug, such cases can be justified morally. Yes, the person surely has to get punished but the punishment can be reduced to minimum as that ‘stealing’ was for a purpose and such reasons seem clearly justifiable.

Breaking the law is no crime but the way you carry out might be one. People oppose by civil disobedience, vigilantism, terrorism whereas strikes and peace marches are other ways to peacefully fight. We must be able to raise our voices for unjust things happening in the society and which unfortunately prevails till now. For a change to occur we must first of all change ourselves and should not be quiet with the fear of consequences if we are fighting for the right. Such disobediences and violation, without any doubt to be considered is justifiable. Not all law breaking are justified, but some as mentioned previously with situations and purposes are.
