The Dark Knight: A Twisted Comedy
In the movie “The Dark Knight,” the city of Gotham is in turmoil over a massive crime organization the police call “The Mob.” The police are constantly trying to outdo this organization, but are thwarted each time they attempt to convict these criminals. Behind the scenes, however, there is another force that may possibly be even greater than “The Mob,” a whacked out clown named The Joker. The Joker is a man who doesn’t play by any rules or regulations, in his own words “I just do things.” During the movie, The Joker has a plan (that isn’t actually a plan) to ultimately prove to the city of Gotham that even the purest of hearts can be easily corrupted. This is what my paper will be about, The Joker’s “plan” for all of Gotham.
To begin with, The Joker first enacts this awkward scheme by instigating a simple crime everyone is all used to seeing, a bank robbery. This wasn’t just any bank, however, this was a mob bank, where The Mob keeps a small portion of their money (roughly $68 million), which The Joker steals. Before the robbery began, the minions were instructed by The Joker to kill each other so that each person would get a larger share of money from what they stole. This displays how insane a mind The Joker has. As planned, each of The Joker’s minions kill each other off so that they get their large sum of money, which in the end all of them are killed either by each other, or by The Joker himself.
Later on, The Joker confronts the very men that he stole from, The Mob and their leader, a Chinese businessman named Lau. The Joker warns The Mob that they need to watch out for Lau, because if he gets captured by the Gotham police then he will squeal on them and get every single last person who is in The Mob thrown in jail. Then he proposes a plan to them to kill The Batman, which is the main reason why he thinks that all of The Mob has been gathering during the day and been slacking off with their crime sprees than what they had originally been doing in the past. When The Mob asks him why he hasn’t killed The Batman already, The Joker responds “If you’re good at something, don’t do it for free,” then wants half of their money in exchange for his help with The Batman.
The Business plan on The ultimate financial plan balancing your money and life
Financial plans are written, structured approaches for sustaining financial fitness and attaining financial objectives. An individual might employ a financial planner or not, but it is a personal responsibility to consider and come up with a personal financial plan based on their unique preferences, circumstances and objectives. A personal financial plan is very crucial since it will help me to ...
The Joker’s schemes evolve beyond just simple robbery and conning mob dealers out of their money to actually killing people to set an example of how The Batman has changed the city for the worse. He kills a guy named Brian Douglass and records it on camera for all to see, then hangs him from the mayor’s building with a joker card attached to Brian. This card, placed by The Joker, had three traces of DNA on it: the judge’s, the police commissioner’s, and the District Attorney, Harvey Dent’s. He succeeds in killing two out of the three, but when he gets to Harvey, Bruce Wayne takes Harvey and stashes him in a secret room where no one can find him, thereby thwarting The Joker’s plans.
The next part of this “plan” was to kill the mayor, who was speaking at the late police commissioner’s funeral. This attempt, however, fails because Lieutenant Gordon steps in and blocks the mayor from getting shot, “killing” Gordon in the process. When Harvey tries to find one of The Joker’s minions who helped The Joker attempt to kill the mayor, but when he finds out that The Joker has made a threat against his girlfriend Rachel Dawes’s life, he is pushed to the brink of insanity in trying to find out more information about The Joker by threatening to shoot a skitsofrenic psycho. This is what The Joker has been wanting from the start of his “plan,” to show Gotham that even the purest of beings such as Harvey Dent can become corrupted easily. Later on, Harvey says in a press conference that he is The Batman and is taken into custody. Soon after he is put in a police convoy to be taken elsewhere, but The Joker arrives on the scene and attempts to stop this convoy by any means necessary, from using machine guns to bazookas and then even using a big 18-wheeler to try and make the cars involved in this transport crash and burn. Eventually The Batman shows up and stops The Joker from disrupting this convoy from taking Harvey to their destination, but then crashes, leaving himself wide open for The Joker to remove his mask.
The Essay on Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Rachael Rosen Killed The Goat
After a great night with Rachael, Rick realized he fell in the trap that set by Rachael. She was sent by the Rosen Association in order to build an empathetic relationship with him. He was so really shocked and pissed off. “Why would you do this to me?” Rick said. “I want you to stop retiring the rest of the androids,” She said. “Do you know, all of the bounty hunters wanted to retire me once they ...
When The Joker tries to do this, however, Lieutenant Gordon sneaks up behind him and makes a quick arrest. Gordon faked his own death for the safety of his family, so that The Joker’s minions didn’t come looking for his family and attempt to kill them. The joker is taken to jail, but before he was even captured he initiated the next part of his “plan,” which was to plant a bomb made from a cell phone inside of one of his henchman, who was arrested along with The Joker, and at the right opportune moment, a simple phone call, and blow up the headquarters. This is twisted enough to the point to where one who already thought The Joker’s “plan” was crazy enough would think this move was beyond insane, but brilliant at the same time.
While The Joker was in jail, he leaks out a little secret to Gordon and all the others inside of the headquarters: Harvey and Rachel have been kidnapped and taken to two different locations and are both going to die unless The Batman and the police make it to each one in time. The Batman confronts The Joker about this situation but ends up only beating up The Joker while causing The Joker to laugh hysterically, showing the viewer of the movie just how insane this madman truly is. While The Batman and Gordon’s unit are off trying to get Rachel and Harvey from their captivity, The Joker gets this phone call he has been wanting so he can blow up the police headquarters and steals Lau, who was in police custody at the time, whom he will later on kill.
The Term Paper on Harvey 1989 Time Space Tuan
To What Extent Does Our Understanding Of Space Depend On The Way We Think Of Time 'Space and time are basic categories of human existence' (Harvey, 1989: 201). They are such familiar concepts to human beings that there is a temptation to dismiss them as unimportant. Time is used everyday - ordered into minutes, hours, days, even millenia - while space is treated as a fact of nature, '... an ...
Next comes when The Joker threatens to blow up a hospital if a certain man who was going to expose The Batman named Coleman Reese is not killed. Reese does not die, therefore The Joker blows up the hospital, but, before he does this, he speaks with Harvey who was in the hospital recovering from his injuries from when he was captured. While talking to Harvey, The Joker teaches him the art of seeking revenge on those who made his life miserable and succeeds in doing so, thereby creating a monster who only kills those he sees are responsible for Rachel’s death, because she was killed in her own explosion. This proves that The Joker was successful in what he was setting out to achieve, he wanted to prove that even the purest of hearts such as Harvey could be turned into a sick and twisted individual like The Joker.
The final part of this sinister plot was to prove that not only was Harvey able to be corrupted, but an entire city could be corrupted as well. So, when the citizens try to flee from the city on ferries. One carrying citizens and the other with the prisoners from Gotham’s jailhouse, The Joker has both ferries rigged to stop at certain points in time then announces over an intercom system that each boat is rigged to blow “sky high” as he puts it. He gives each boat a chance to live, however, by giving each boat the detonation trigger for the other ship’s bomb. However, if the ships did not blow each other up, then he would blow both of the ships up himself. This part of the plan fails because the people show The Joker that they do not have the same mindset as his.
Ultimately, The Joker’s plan was one of genius, but insanity at the same time. Each part of his scheme was progressively worse than the last leading to the point of insanity of Harvey Dent, who fell into The Joker’s net like a fly does with a spider’s web. From the simple robbery at the beginning of the movie to the almost near death of two ship loads of people at the end, The Joker shows us one thing, that there is a fine line between genius and insanity, and he erased that line. In his own words “I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve,” showing us that he is completely sane in what he does, just each thing he does is even more insane than what he did previously. The genius in The Joker may seem to us like pure insanity at its finest, but to guys like him, it is just a way of life.
