Listing twenty things that I admire and like about myself was not a simple task to complete. After consulting with neighbors, friends, family, and just about anyone who would stand still long enough to ask their opinion I have come up with the following qualities that I and others around me admire. The first would have to be that I am a good mom. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past nine years and have been raising three young children. Another aspect of being a good mom is that I am also very loving and nurturing. I never leave the house without saying “I love you” to my children and giving them a hug and a kiss.
I am also a good friend, and very dependable. I am there for my friends whenever they need me even if it is 3 a.m. and they are 25+ miles away. Part of being a good friend is also being a good listener which I am as well. I find myself very easy to talk to, and can hold up my own end of the conversation as well.
I have been married for 9 years and am also very loyal to my husband. I try to do everything I can for him since he is a very hard worker as well. Another quality that has helped in my marriage is that I am funny. My husband and I both have a good sense of humor and that has helped us out on more than one occasion. Marriage has also taught me to be forgiving and to try not to go to bed angry. It doesn’t always work, but I get an “A” for effort.
Everyone not only wants a good friend in their life, but they need one too. Friendships often face a great number of conflicts that may weaken you, or it may do the opposite, make your relationship stronger. A good friend may also be known as a true friend or a best friend that will always be there for you. Having a good friend will keep you going in life, and make you have a brighter smile on ...
I am an animal lover to the extreme. After high school, I moved to Indiana and volunteered my time at a rescue facility for exotic cats, bears, wolves, foxes, and coyotes. At that time I learned what dedication it takes rescuing animals that can no longer be cared for by others. And the persistence it takes to put food in their mouths when money is not readily available in a non-profit facility. If it was my choice I would have a house full of animals that I had rescued from various places. Luckily it is not only my choice.
One other interesting quality about me is that I am a talented singer. When I was in middle school and high school I was in solo and ensemble contests and managed to walk away with a few good grades from the judges. I still enjoy singing and karaoke when my husband and I can get out.
There are also several qualities about me that I believe would help me out in the professional workplace. I am motivated to find a new path in life and a career that can take me to retirement. I am determined to stick with my career choice as a Medical Secretary and be all that I can be at school and in the workplace. I am a hard worker and will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals.
Previously I ran a customer service help desk and learned analytical skills which can be very useful in problem solving situations. I often second guess things and try different approaches to looking at things. I also learned from the help desk to be very outgoing when speaking with people and to make myself approachable and easy to talk to.
I am very respectful to my elders and love to help people whenever possible. I always try hard to conduct myself in a professional manner and have always been kind and courteous when dealing with people.
Lastly, I am determined to take this to the finish and learn what I need to learn to become an asset to any company that I work for in the future.
In the profession I have chosen, understanding others is critical in succeeding to make a physician’s office a better place. Understanding other people and having empathy will make the experience more personal for a doctor’s patients. They want to know that you understand that they do not want to sit in a waiting room for over an hour just to see a doctor. And sometimes maybe they need to know that you just “get it” when they aren’t feeling well and happen to be a little short with you that day. I am good at empathizing with people, but not to the extent that it is overboard. I feel that this quality along with the others that I have listed will lead me to a very successful career as a medical secretary. I also hope that at the end of this year together you will identify and enjoy these qualities in me along with some others that I have not included here.
Many people continue their education beyond high school to advance their careers. That is why I began working on my bachelor's degree. I wanted a job that did not involve standing at a cash register. However, I gained much more than that in those four years. When I finished my bachelor's degree in 1996, my emotions were very conflicted. On one hand I was very happy and proud to have completed the ...
