If you are interested in Arabian Horses, and especially in Straight Egyptian bloodlines, a journey to Egypt is a “must“ in your life. It also should include a date in the Egyptian state stud farm, El Zah-raa. You will also find interesting horses in the private stud farms. The interest of private breeders in Egyptian horses has increased greatly in the past ten years. There were just a handful breeders in the seventies, but today there are more than a hundred private stud farms. These farms are members of “The Egyptian Arabian Breeders Association,” an organization set apart from the government controlled breeding programs.
With the increasing interest, new people became interested in breeding and brought new ideas. The Egyptian breeders became more open for foreign influence. Arabian horses from foreign countries, especially from the USA, were imported. Omar Sakr was the first breeder in Egypt to import foreign bred, Egyptian Arabians, in the nineties. His beautiful mare AK Nouasha (Ansata Abbas Pasha x AK Nouara) – Supreme Champion at the Egyptian National Show in 1993 – is unforgotten. On one side, her win caused a discussion about a mare winning against a stallion, on the other side, this mare came from a foreign country. This was just the start of a nearly endless discussion about the pro’s and con’s of Re-Imports.
The Essay on Compare And Contrast Of Egyptian And Mesopotamian Religions
Perceptions of Gods Deep in the region in the Arabian Desert is where two of the earliest civilizations resided. Their names are Egypt and Mesopotamia. These two societies resided near major rivers as their source of water for agriculture. Egypt developed into a self sufficient empire that entailed agriculture, social hierarchy, and religion. Mesopotamia used irrigation and developed cities with ...
Although born on foreign soil, the Egyptian breeders imported only horses of Straight Egyptian bloodlines. There ancestries came directly from Egypt. This is a difference to many other eastern countries like Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi-Arabia, U.A.E. It seems that the breeders in these countries are seeking show-horses regardless of pedigree.
Private Breeding Farms Dot the Deserts Edge.
In Egypt the people set great store by keeping a cultural heritage and they understand their Straight Egyptian horses as a part of their cultural heritage. But it is not only necessary to keep this heritage but to improve it, too. And if imported horses contribute to this aim, why not? The breeders who import Straight Egyptians of excellent quality from abroad are working in the best tradition of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS).
The RAS bought several horses from the English Lady Wentworth in 1920. Among them were horses who traced back to the well known Egyptian stud farms of Abbas Pasha and Ali Pasha Sherif. But within this group were horses with completely new blood, too. A good example is the mare Razieh, registered as Bint Rissala in Egypt. She is the great-grandmother of Kaisoon. Another good example is the stallion Kazmeen. He is the maternal grand-sire of Nazeer. Therefore you will find him in most Straight Egyptian pedigrees in our time.
Each thing has two sides. You should think about each side as dispassionate as possible. The opin-ions about using re-imported Egyptian Arabian horses are totally contrary in Egypt. One group is strictly against the use of re-imported horses, even if these horses are Straight Egyptian. Their es-sential arguments? The influence of the environment. They argue, if a horse leaves Egypt, it is no longer the same in the different environment. The follower of this theory say, the horse loses its dryness. They point out that a different environment cause a genetic change with time. Moreover these group fear a genetically water down of the Straight Egyptian horse because of the individual taste in different countries. It is their opinion, that each country breed its “own” Arabian horse, just a product of the “original Arabian horse,” no longer a really “Straight Egyptian Arabian Horse.”
Another point these group mentions bares thought: The Arabian horse loose its inbreeding stability. This breed was developed within centuries under the influence of extreme climate. Because of this extreme environment all negative variants of a former heterogeneous stock were destroyed. Now they have a homogeny, inbreeding resistant stock. While using foreign (alien) blood the stock is no longer homogeny. The stock is no longer resistant for inbreeding, the genetically concentration was lost.
The Term Paper on Arab Awakening and the Revolution in Egypt
‘Arab Awakening’ or ‘Arab Spring’, which occurred on 18 December 2010, may be regarded as the most recent and burning issue of the contemporary political events since the predominance of news, reports and research over this topic in the year 2011. This huge revolutionary wave in Arab World had given a specific attention when all its happenings were published fully and regularly by the mass media ...
At least this breeder cite the well known English breeder Wilfried Blunt. He wrote in the 1880’s: It should be a cardinal principal to preserve the Arabian breed and not to improve the breed.
In contrast to this very traditional program, the stock of other breeders are based mainly upon im-ported horses. The “pro-importation group” accept this new blood as a chance to improve the do-mestic Arabian horses. A principle in horse breeding, which was and is successful. Please, allow me the comparison with the Babson Arabian horses, although known as “Old Egyptians”, and the “New Egyptians” (Straight Egyptians imported since 1950) in the USA. The Babson group came to USA in the 1930s. The “Old Egyptians” and the “New Egyptians” have partially the same ances-tries. And the combination of “Babson” and “New Egyptians” was often very successful for breeding and show.
Most of the breeders in Egypt try to find a golden middle road. They try to combine the best of both worlds. Possibly we will speak about “Old Egyptians” (just EAO-lines) and “New Egyptians” (im-ported horses and combinations with EAO-horses) again, if we talk about the Arabian horse in Egypt.
This bay colt, bred by the famous Hamdan Stables, is the product of the infusion of American Egyptian bloodlines. His dam is from Historic Egyptian “old” blood, while his sire is a son of the imported stallion, Imperial Madori.
It is sad, that the positions are so contrary. Just four years ago Dr. Khalil Soliman Khalil, stud man-ager of El Zahraa, talked about the idea, not to hold just a national, but an international show in Egypt. Arabian horses from all over the world should be allowed to enter. Today the National Show, held each year in October, in Egypt is still a national show. The terms for participation are even stricter. Well, we have strict rules in Germany, too. Only horses born in Germany are allowed to enter at the National Championship. This is understandable for most people. But in Egypt a foal out of imported horses, born in Egypt, is not allowed to enter the National Championship. Only the second generation is legitimate to enter. A very big concession to the traditional breeders in Egypt.
The Term Paper on Ancient Egyptian Society Egypt One Men
Ancient Egypt is well know for its rich history and culture, yet no one really understands what daily life was like, how the government was structured, or they were taught that Egypt was built on the backs of slave labor. There are those people that believe Ancient Egypt may have been ruthless and uncivilized, and then there are the others that want to see how it contributed to modern Western ...
