My opinion after learned from the course
From a young age, I was very interested in Chinese culture. Maybe that is because my father is a Chinese professional master. He has many books .It is true that Chinese culture is learned unconsciously simply by growing up in a particular community or family. I read the books from my father’s bookcase since childhood, such as emperor series of Mr.Er Yuehe , who is a celebrated novelist on Qing Dynasty. And “The Amazing Tales” ,which is a representative works of the Ming Dynasty
So, In the first semester of sophomore year, when I saw the new class schedule, I was very happy to saw the course “A Panoramic View of Chinese Culture”. This book includes the essence part of Chinese culture. After learning the book, I realized that Chinese culture is not only the culture which often write on the paper, but also Chinese Cuisine, Crafts and skills, Traditional Sports and so on. I love cooking , I always cooks for my parents on vocation. Among Eight Cuisines in China, my parents and I only love Sichuan Cuisine. Such as the saying in books, Chili peppers and prickly ash are used in many dishes, giving it a distinctively spicy taste, called “ma” in Chinese. It often leaves a slight numb sensation in the mouth. I live this taste of “ma”. After learning the Unit 3 ,I search some more recipe of Sichuan Cuisine, such Sichuan Beef, Sichuan Shrimp and so on. When I learned it successful, I will cook for my parents. Confucianism also pay attention to filial piety, different culture also should be complementary to each other. One of the period of “A bite of China” is called home, the surface is about Food culture, but the reality is about children and parents live happy together.

China has a long and glorious history in traditional crafts. The most representative are Bronze Vessels, Jade, Silk, Embroidery, Porcelain, Pottery, Cloisonne, Lacquerware, Kites, Paper Cuttings, Seals, and Folk Toys.
