This concept is portrayed in the film when Landon Carter, the bad boy, falls in love with the minister’s daughter Jamie Sullivan. Jamie and the love Landon has for her changes Landon into a kinder and more determined individual. Two significant themes displayed throughout this film are love conquers all superficiality and judgment based on appearances. Love conquers all means that no matter what happens love can never be defeated and is unconditional. Death cannot extinguish the power of love. Love can overpower the hardships of life.

It shows how people are easily misjudged based on their appearances rather than who they truly are on the inside. Landon Carter is originally considered to be popular and tough. He hangs out with the cool kids and gets himself into trouble. Everyone either wanted to be his best friend or wanted to date him. Later on, we discover that Landon isn’t really a bad guy. Underneath his “cool guy” exterior, he is kind and loving.
