Williams Abigail Williams was born in an unknown town with unknown parents and then moved to live with her uncle, Reverend Parris, when she was younger. I think the reason she likes older guys, like John Proctor, because she never really got to know her father. When she moved in with her uncle she felt loss since he was extremely strict and all about himself so she found out ways to get attention. Therefore she started dancing in the woods with her friends and claiming people she does not like to be witches. So her parents leaving her are the blame of her craziness.
Physical Traits- A strikingly beautiful girl (Miller 15) at age seventeen( Miller 15) She is all worry (Miller 15), so that means she can easily changed her face to make it seem like she cares. Character traits- Abigail Williams seems to be evil by the way she speaks with other women, “Let either of you breathe a word, or edge of a word about the other things and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will a pointy reckoning that will shudder you”(Miller 26) Williams in a way is also a childish character.
When she continues to proclaim her love for John proctor even when she knows he wants nothing to do with her. “ Child! …How do you call me child. ” ( Miller 29).
Abigail Williams is very important to this story. She is clearly the villain when she starts the blame game. Without her in this story, I don’t think the witch hunt would have elevated to the level that it reached therefore not having so many people hung.
