Pro-choice does not mean Pro-abortion, it is the right in choosing whether to reproduce, adopt, or abort. It is every human being’s right to make their own decisions, and so it is a woman’s right to make the choices that affect her life as she see’s morally right. It is a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body and it should not be altered or influenced by anyone else. Asking a woman to sacrifice her life for an embryo, is not upholding the right to life that Pro-life activists so whole heartily believe in, rather it is condemning her to sacrifice her life for something that is not yet human. The Constitution grants every citizen of the United States the freedom to make their own choices as they see morally right, as long as it does not violate any laws. The ninth amendment states: ‘ The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.’ (United States Constitution) This right guarantees the right to women, if they so choose, to have an abortion. To give the fetus the right to exist in a woman’s body would make the woman a slave. Slavery is not a right. It is not morally or legally a right. In fact slavery is a horrible act that was outlawed due to the Civil War.
