Do you feel content with this life path? You shouldn’t.
No one can ever succeed by working for someone else. An employee’s pay check is calculated according to his qualifications, usefulness to the company and is proportional to the company’s income. On the other hand, an employer’s pay check I s the company’s income! Let’s look at the example of Bill Gates. He established Microsoft in
order to gain some money so he could pay for college. After the first Windows started selling he quit his dreams of higher education and became a businessman. He never graduated from college and yet he requires a Masters from his employees. All he needed, in order to become one of the richest and most successful people around the globe, were a high school education, some great ideas and instinct. Let me cite one similar case : show business, the domain where money and fame prevail !
Certificates are just paper there. Actually, looks and public relations matter much more. Here is an example: Arnold Schwarzenegger went to the USA as a bodybuilder from Austria with only $5 (and no degrees) in his pockets and ended up becoming the Governor of California, after shooting and directing over 45 films. He is also considered to be one of the richest actors in Hollywood. Would
a Masters in Engineering have made him richer or more

successful? I doubt it.
On the other hand, we could never deny the importance
of academic education. There are many exceptions to the idea of succeeding without studying. For example sscientists who spend their lives researching ways to improve our everyday life, have also spent a great deal of time studying. They are usually not well paid, but keep working for a goal greater than money, thus they are considered successful. There are also people who seek academic knowledge out of pure interest in a subject, without expecting it to pay off in the near future. There are also people who prefer working as employees rather than taking on the risks of working as self-employed individuals. And it is wise not to take on unbearable risks.
The idea of leading a successful life, irrespective of academic credentials may seem appealing but leaning in that direction without having first acquired proper education is out of the question in modern society. Academic credentials will most possibly determine your career prospects along with financial security but they cannot guarantee success in life. In the event that you decide to reject higher education and try to work as an individual you must also reconsider your aims and weigh the ad- vantages and disadvantages of such a venture. Not being good at school doesn’t necessarily mean you will excel in
business or the cinema or music. Before choosing a path in life, careful consideration and good planning. are essential. Not everyone is a Bill Gates but everyone needs more than luck to work for him-so start studying. Good luck in the exams and make some room on the wall for this year’s certificates.
