Accountablitly and how it has a roll in the Army. One type of accountability is personal item accountability for instance your wallet and ID. As a PFC and in the Army for almost 2 years i know how important accountablitly of personal items are and expecally possible security risk items. According to AR735-5 Army property is considered as follows; Army property is all property under the control of the Department of the Army (DA) except property accounted for as owned by a nonappropriated fund (NAF) activity. It must be accounted for on a property account unless specificallyexempted by an AR.
Property leased by an Army activity is considered Army property for accounting purposes. Property loaned to a non-Army activity remains Army property. Real property accounts for all assets on the installation regardless of who funded the construction or pay for sustainment (except privately owned) will be reflected in the installation real property inventory. Property built by NAF, Air Force, and Navy are considered tenants on the installation and will be reflected as such in the inventory (see Security risk items can be any of the following: CAC card ID, SIPR tokens, DAGRs, used Hard Copy paper,ect.
Loss ofany of these items can hurt the battery on many levels. The CAC Card is a multy use identifcation card. it allows you access to military instalations, use of government computers, verifaction of id for uraniry analasis, social security number(if you have an older CAC card)and access to other personal data that can lead to stolen identaties. Any out side source trying to negetivly affect our armed services and or counrty could use our CAC cards to figure out how they work and gain access to our secure bases and or computers.

An enemy of the United States on our installations cause a sever security risk because gathering information on our troops movements, and locations of important buildings such as the Base Defense Operations Center or even our dinning facilitys. These locations are important to the enemys of the United States because they could be possible targets for mortar attacks or even foot attacks anda person on the inside useing a CAC card to gain access to the site could easeily help in funneling the attack to the most important locations.
Loosing other items such as bank cards and cash can be problemmatic as well for a PFC in the Army. Being without a means of purchasing items such as shampoo and body wash make it difficult to conduct proper personal hygene. Without means to aquire these items on your own make you relient on the Armys supplys and this is an issue do to most things in the Army are made by the lowest bidder. I am not saying the items you would use for personal hygene would not work but your skin may regret you useing them later. There are many ways to prevent you from lossing personal items or gea.
One way is to set up a routen on where you put your personal items and gear in the same location after using them. A second good way is sitational, if you can you can do “buddy checks” its where you havea fellow soldier double check your gear you are wearing to make sure you are wearing the correct gear for the exercise you are going to be participating in. wether it be a feild exersise, stick lanes, table eights, or even just PT makeing sure you have the correct uniform for either winter or summer and if you are wearing battery shirts or not.
Personal accountability is another huge part of the Army. It affects almost every part of the unit. Not being where you are supposed to be in at the correct time not only is a waste of your time but also a waste of you leaderships time. you leadership will be wasteing time trying to contact you and find you and make sure you are in the correct uniform and also figure out why you are late and or not there. If you miss a formation you could be counsled or even chaptered depending on the situation.

For instance if you miss PT formation it might just be a counsleing unless you have miss a lot of formation, but if you miss a movment formation for a deployment it will be chapter paperwork and will be much worse. There is an important lession received when doing essays like this. it help remind people to do the right thing and not make mistakes like this again. thats all this was, was a mistake i can assure you this will not happen again
