My group research question for emotional investigation is “how different food affects your mood?” In this investigation we are measuring people’s emotion with consuming different foods. We are measuring sadness to happiness by giving some people yoghurt and tea, and finding out how those foods affect their mood. SAD stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder and is the feeling you show when you are not happy. There are many examples to show for cause and effect relationship between mood and food. In this report I will explain how tea and yoghurt affects your sad mood? Tea contains an ingredient called L-Theanine.
L- Theanine is one of the major amino acid components in green tea or black tea. It may modulate an aspect of brain function in humans and helps to keep your alert. Yoghurt dairy products contain essential vitamins and minerals which helps to improve your mood especially when you are feeling not happy. By selecting a small group of 9 students and giving them the sample while keeping the people in the same room; the amount of food consumed will be measured. Our aim for this experiment is how our food experiment affects the patients.
METHODS
Day 1 (Planning)
We are selecting 9 people at ASMS. Our sample size is three students for each test1, test2, and the control.
Finding subjects to conduct our experiment on.
The Essay on Food And Mood Moods Foods Blaun
People used to consider food that it only affects the body. However, the link between food and mood is drawing public attention lately. In fact, many articles about how food affects our moods have been published. According to one article, ... the right foods, or the natural neuro chemicals they contain, can enhance mental capabilities help you concentrate, tune sensorimotor skills, keep you ...
Choosing a time and space to conduct our experiment.
Choosing one or more foods to test (we are choosing yoghurt and tea to measure sad mood / feeling).
Day 2 (Test days)
Find those people who are supposed to do our experiment.
Control – do the mood test in this website http://www.testcolor.com/ (people).
Test 1 – giving yoghurt to each person (3people).
Test 2 – giving tea to each person (3people).
*test 1 and test 2: before eating they should doing the mood test which is like the control test and after they eat / drink they should do that again to know how that affects their mood before and after consuming those food/drink.
Conclusion
From that result (figure 3) we can see that the control didn’t change because they don’t consume anything so the mood will be same. From figure1 we can see test 1 and test 2 the result is an increase because the food can bring their contents to change your brain structure (chemically and physically).
For example brain chemicals influence the way we think, feel and behave, they can be affected by what we’ve eaten . Yoghurt is a good source of protein which can help sustain your good mood by slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates in the bloodstream. In particular vitamin D seems to help the type of depression called “Seasonal Affective Disorder” or SAD, which is contained in yoghurt. In conclusion, there is some more evidence saying that the weather may also affect your mood. We also measured their mood with doing the “mood test ” / http://www.testcolor.com/ from there we can also see how their mood look like .
