Action Plan (1) It is crucial to have plan, when it comes to organizing ones day activities, because plan increases the beneficial effect of these activities to its maximum. At the same time, this plan must be based on understanding of at least one motivational theory, as a practical tool, which brings logic into the process of planning. I think that Maslows Hierarchy of Needs theory is the most applicable of all, when it comes to planning my activities, because as individual who lives in post-modern era, my worldview is affected by the variety of irrational factors that need to be addressed, before my day activities will allow me to attain a state of psychological comfort. Every mentally and physically normal person needs to workout, to interact socially, to be romantically attached to another person and to have a healthy sleep, in order to be socially productive. The problem is these activities do not have an undisputed universal appeal to many people, including me, because they involve application of an effort. Therefore, it is very important for the person to be subconsciously sure that applying an effort, while engaging in these day activities, is justified in every respect. This can only be accomplished if we obtain emotional satisfaction out of our activities, before being satisfied in physical sense of this word.
As Abraham Maslow in his book Motivation and Personality said: If we are interested in what actually motivates us and not what has or will, or might motivate us, then a satisfied need is not a motivator (Maslow, p. 5).

For every person, physiological needs come as priority. Even though they do not define persons essence as human being, they must to be satisfied periodically, in order for the individual not to be diverted from contemplating on abstract matters. Ancient people were well aware of the fact that, in order for individual to be able to fully utilize its intellectual potential; his mental activity must be based on solid physiological foundation. This is why; having a healthy sleep can be referred to as one of the most important aspects of getting persons physical needs satisfied. In his book Existential PsychologyWhat’s In It for Us, Maslow suggests that satisfaction of physical needs is the basic precondition for the emergence of metaphysical needs: For people with lower basic needs satisfied, higher needs emerge & we can talk about freedom for self-fulfillment, autonomy, encouragement of growth, humanitarianism, justice, democracy, etc.
There is now a hierarchy of societies paralleling the hierarchy of basic needs (Maslow, p. 135).
The romantic involvement, apart from having communal importance, also enables individual to have a sense of belonging, and as such, it can be discussed in terms of social need. At the same time, we can talk of romance as one of persons physiological needs, because romantic relationship usually leads to sex. For every individual, it is very important to have a strong sense of gender affiliation, because it directly results to the achieving of psychological comfort. Therefore, I consider having romantic relationship as one of my daily activities that have must do status. The next stage would be acquiring self-esteem, and the only way to gain a feeling of self-respect, is no insure that it corresponds to the objective reality. In other words it is impossible for the person to respect oneself, without securing respect on the part of other people.
In its turn, this can only be achieved with the mean of social interaction. Thus, once social interaction is viewed as the essential part of becoming productive individual, it comes naturally, because it is not being associated with applying excessive efforts. As individual, I strive to attain social prominence; however, this term is just too abstract to serve as strong motivational factor. Therefore, I need to look at above-mentioned activities from the prospect of self-esteem. It is impossible to imagine person being able to focus on achieving professional goals, unless he has a strong willpower. It its turn, the strength of ones willpower can be improved over time.

This is why I will consider exercising in the morning, as the essential part of my self-actualization. Physical exercises do not only allow me to stay in shape, but also provide me with insight upon myself, as mature and responsible individual. In his article Can You Increase Your Willpower?, Tamim Ansary views willpower as one of the main tools of self-actualization and suggests that it can be strengthened: Some recent experiments suggest that willpower may be like a muscle, at least to the extent that it can tire to strengthen your willpower, you must exercise it. But don’t set yourself up for failure. Start with stuff your out-of-shape will can handle (Ansary).
Thus, it is quite possible to design an action plan, in regards to my everyday activities, while utilizing Malsows theory.
(2) First of all, I will need to sleep every night for at least seven hours. This can be regarded as part of having my physiological needs satisfied. Second of all, I will be spending from one to two hours with the object of my affection, on daily basis. Apart from purely biological motivation to do this, the growing sense of social fitness will serve as powerful incentive, when it comes to encouraging me to act in socially accepted manner. Third of all, I will socialize with my friends and coworkers for at least 3-4 hours a day, which will allow me to develop my communicational skills and endow me with the sense of self-esteem. The ability to effectively defend its own point of view derives out of continuous improvement of ones communicational ability.
This principle is equally applicable to all. Finally, I will be spending one-hour minimum, to do physical workouts early in the morning, every day. In this case, the motivation for me to do so is going to consist out of physical and emotional needs, which will be combined in inseparable manner. As a result, it will allow me to actualize my existential potential. Only this incentive can be strong enough to effectively overcome the natural laziness of an individual who lives in post-modern era.
