•What is ageism? How does ageism influence the presence of diversity in society? In my readings this week I learned the meaning of ageism in our society. Ageism is the “prejudice and discrimination against older adults.” (Racial and Ethnic Groups, Ch.13, pg.395.) Ageism influences the presence of diversity in society by restricting the elderly of what they are capable of, or presumed incapable of.
