AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH Today, most companies succeed based on how well they manage their relationships with their customers. Todays visionary managers are not only relying on people for excellent work but on technology to take over the front office. It seems that an affinity with technology was affected when the e-customer was born. Peoples behavior and needs change over time. This paper looks into the way Al Gore and his company leveraged the Internet to promote the movie An Inconvenient Truth. It will look at the issue on the influence of the Internet on peoples behavior and relate it to how marketing tools were utilized in other films such as The Lord of the Rings. Rafi Mohammed and his co-authors in the book Internet Marketing expounds on the different stages that show how to move customers through the sour stages of customer relationships namely, awareness, exploration/expansion, commitment and dissolution.
The marketing levers on product, pricing, communication, community and distribution are also used to advance customers from awareness to becoming deeply committed and profitable customers. (Mohammed et al).

Al Gore himself uses the Internet to promote his film. Downloading relevant information, he gives talks to audiences all over the country updating them on the latest about the effects of the climate changes. (Gibson).
It is not surprising that he does this with all his heart and soul. He looks back to family traumas related to the environment and this spurs him on to act in his own way. The movie is something to reckon with.
Using Internet materials and promotions, Al Gore expounds on the problems on environmental pollution, particularly air and water, are seriously attacking humanity in the forms of ailment, resource depletion or scarcity and climate change, which all redound to destruction of life of animals and human beings. There is an urgent call for all to get involved in finding remedies to solve the problem, or alleviate their negative impact from causing further destruction in all living things. If all will still be unmindful of pollutions ill effects in our lives, floods, droughts, other natural hazards will further endanger more lives. The ongoing environmental problems we face today require the attention of everyone internationally. What affects one affects all, and what one finds to be a solution to a pressing environmental problem may be solutions best applied to all. All weve got to do is to strengthen our international frameworks in the field of environment and such agreements that guarantee globalization support to sustainable development. However, Al Gore and colleagues did not explore the power of the Internet to his maximum level. People are still unaware of the truths behind the issue and instead are seeing his own motives propelled solely rather than his desire to give seek solutions to the problem.
This is probably where the people behind the movie The Lord of the Rings are a notch higher than those behind An Inconvenient Truth. The movie on The Lord of the Rings does it excellently as it set a promotional benchmark that is unparalleled. It is a significant entertainment Internet promotion in line with it s strategic marketing objectives. It is with the thought of expanding the reach of marketing the movie to include hundreds of millions of consumers who currently may not be aware of the movie. (Weekly Cast Watch).
