Virtues and sense are not similar, sense you are born with, then you use them. Virtues are habits. When you engage in actions, they become habits (either viture or vice) with these habits, you continue with those virtues, becomes a cycle. Senses are the power to use them. With habits (habits) courage, self control, you first engage in the actions. This is the way our character develops. You become courageous by doing courageous actions, they become habits, you have now developed strengths and confidence. How do I do the first courageous action? virtuous person knows they should share, wants to share, shares-no struggle. continent person knows they should share, does not want to share, shares-struggles, wins. Incontinent person knows they should share, does not want to share, does not share-loses the struggle. vicious person does not think to share, does not want to share, does not share-no struggle. Two good characters, two bad characters, admire the continent person because they overcame the struggle. Aristotle does admire continent person but it would be better if there was no struggle.
Virtuous and continent person both do the right thing but the virtuous person does it easily, does not go to war with themselves. Most people don’t want to do what’s right even though most people know what’s right. Vicious person has an advantage over continent and incontinent because they are not at war with themselves, but the difference is that the guilt with the incontinent person is good, they at least know what they did was wrong and they can at least change that bad habit habit. The vicious person does not even know that what they are doing is wrong. Vicious has a detachment from reality.

Some people are lethargic, they never get angry, then there are those that handle their anger correctly. Anger is not the enemy, emotion is not the enemy, there are certain ways to react to the these emotions. Some people who have too much fear=cowards, see dangers everywhere.
Some people have too little fear=reckless, don’t see the dangers of things. Aristotles says you have to figure out the right way to express emotions. Aristotle is not suggesting some people are reckless/courageous/cowardly. You should have appropriate fear. The kind of habit you have changes the way you see the world. Cowards suffer all the time for things they sould not be suffering about, they are held back, bad habit. -Aristotle does not advocate moderation with respect to emotions, he does not say to develop the habit of feeling moderately. He says always have appropriate feelings and actions relevant to the situation.
