Beauty as Power There are many definitions of what the concept of beauty stands for. However, most of them suggest that beauty only has a decorative function, which points out to the fact that these definitions lack depth. Once we become aware of the degree to which society is obsessed with the concept of beauty, it will appear that this notion has much wider implications than what it is commonly assumed. We can say that beauty is power, because it is impossible to talk about it outside of evolutionary context. If we look at the organisms that were evolving for millions of years, while being subjected to the constant process of natural selection, we would have to agree that one of their main characteristics is physical beauty. Thus, the concept of beauty does not have relative properties, as the hawks of political correctness try to convince us.
When we discuss beauty, in biological term of this word, we can refer to it as the physical indication that particular living form stays within the mainstream of evolutionary progress. Even though White people consist of only 10% of Earth population, it is the Western ideals of beauty that are accepted throughout the world as universal. It is not just a Jesus Christ, who is usually depicted as having blond hair and blue eyes, but also Buddha, Ketsacoatl and Vishnu. It is a well-known fact that members of primitive tribes in Africa, Polynesia, Australia and Brazil, which were never able to evolve beyond the Stone Age, often mutilate their bodies with the mean of bizarre piercing or insertion of wooden blocks into their moths etc. This is because subconsciously, they know that they simply lack physical beauty and they think that altering the physical properties of their bodies would make them good-looking. However, nature cannot be cheated. Thus, we can draw a logical link between physical beauty and cultural and scientific progress, which in its turn, allows us to talk about beauty as power. Ancient people were well aware of the fact that, in this world, everything has to do with everything.

They knew that it is impossible to talk about beauty, intelligence and health without understanding that these concepts derive out of each other. The person, who is mentally deficient, for example, apart from being ugly, also lacks intelligence and physical health. Therefore, it is wrong to suggest that Western societys obsession with beauty is something that is being artificially imposed by the Medias. Throughout the history, every society that was slowly losing its integrity, because of racial mixing, strived to gain back its former essence in many irrational ways. Just before ancient Rome was being sacked by the barbarians, it was a common practice among Romans to dye their hair blond. We get to see the same trend gaining momentum nowadays even Hell Berry thinks that it is absolutely normal for her to have her hair dyed, despite her racial affiliation.
The multiculturalisms main agenda is to make Caucasians to forget that their ideals of beauty have universal properties, because this will automatically deprive them of their former power. This is being largely accomplished already, because every White person, in large American cities, knows that it is suicidal to show up on the streets of ghetto, after it gets dark. To conclude this paper, let us repeat again that the concept of beauty cannot be interpreted in different ways. The sculptures of Michelangelo have a far greater esthetical value then the primitive figurines that were carved out of wood in Africa. This is simply an objective reality. At the time when people of European descend were not doubting doubt this fact, their cultural and technological dominance in the world could not be challenged.
In other words they had power. Today, European countries and U.S. are powerless to stop the waves of illegal immigrants, who even refuse to learn the language of countries, which they come to exploit, while as recent as sixty years ago; 300.000 million Indians were fully subjected to fifty thousand Britons, in India. Therefore, the ideals of beauty have political implication. Beauty gives power to those who are biologically capable of appreciating it. Abstract: This paper discuses the relation of concept of beauty to the concept of power. Outline: Beauty as universal category p.
