Being A College Mother
They joys of motherhood, from the first cry of a newborn baby and everything on are memories forever kept. There are so many ups and downs of parenthood such as the changes you experience along the way. The minute you find out you are to going to be a parent it both rewarding and scary. Perhaps the unknowing task of responsibility and challenges is the most frightening. Nothing can prepare you for the moment you find out you are going to be a mommy. The night my son was born I knew I was a different person and my life would be changed forever. It made me realize that I had to grow up fast because of the responsibility I was given. My children were truly a blessing and the best things that has ever happened to me. Being able to support yourself and family fincially is a struggle thousands of mothers face on a day to day basis. Having a mimium wage job is not going to make ends meet and there are alot of unemployed people out there. A big percentage of those are mothers because employers are looking for people with a limitless amount of time so they can put it into working. A mom might need more flexibility in her schedule than someone who doesn’t have children. Our children are the priority, but the same skills that make us great mothers will make us assets in any work place.
Making a career choice to go to school is not only for your family but for yourself. Being a college mother changes your outlook on life, it gives you amazing self-esteem, confidence and a sense of accomplishment knowing that you will be to support them finically. That’s the drive that keeps us going. I think that it is wonderful that mothers have the opportunity to better themselves so they can pass the same motivation down to thier children. Through all my struggles that I have faced I have learned that my kids are my role models, it is because I got pregnant so young that i decided to go to college, they are the reason I get up and the inspiration to do all that I do and be all that I can be.
