People now are more concerned with making more money and what money can buy. The more money they have, the greater they think of themselves. Is money really important? Does money guarantee you success and happiness in life? I do not think so. People who are materialistic are the kind of people who do not see much in life. They only see life as a medium for them to make more money and be happy. To me, being materialistic is a waste of time, not to mention a waste of effort in making so much money and spent it on goods.
I also think that by being materialistic you are defined yourself indirectly and it sets a boundary in your life. Why do I say that being materialistic is a waste of time? You see, you are so caught up in making more money that you do not have time to socialize with your friends. Is making more money worth the price you have to pay to lose a friend? I know it is not. Yes, you can say that you have money and that people will be attracted to you and wants to be your friend but little do you know, that those friends are stabbing you right from the back.
Have all the money in the world but I cannot buy you a friendship. As the saying goes, true friend stabs you in the front never at the back. Now you see why I say that being materialistic is a waste of time? You waste the opportunities to meet and be friends with other people. Imagine this. You have worked so hard this month and it is time for payday! You get your pay and you are off to the nearest shopping mall and spent all your salary for that particular month. You bought such as Gucci handbags, Mac make up’s, Adidas sportswear and then what? You go home to that same old house and life goes on.
The Term Paper on Importance of Money in Life
importance of money in life What did you learn about money as you were growing up? Something like "money does not grow on trees," or "Money the root of all evil", or maybe "all rich people are greedy"? Well, how do you expect to be successful financially, if you believe these things? You attract into your life what you think about and what you believe. If you think there is not enough money in ...
I mean what happens to the things you buy? Do you feel happy? Genuinely happy? I am a realistic person. I do not see the point of sending your month’s salary on something that is not permanent. I see more to life that what I see with my two eyes. I find joy and happiness in others who surrounds me. If I were to have a lot of money, I would spend it on my families and friends. Why waste so much on yourself when you know even that little things you do for others can bring joy to them? Like they always say, ‘happiness always look small if you keep it to yourself.
Learn to share with others and look at the wonders it can do to you. When you are a materialistic, you are defined yourself to the world, saying that “I’m busy making money. Money is important”. When you yourself had defined that money is everything, what else is there? You find joy in making money. You find joy in spending money and else really matters. To you, without money the world will collapse and it is the end of the day. No! You are wrong. You have isolated yourself so far apart from the world, so deep in that you don not find the real purpose in life.
You lost the meaning of waking up in the morning felling happy about the silly things you did last night. Why define yourself so fast, so cruel? Have mercy on your soul. Let it break free. Be the little kid who used to run around playing in the rain. Last but not least, being money minded will set boundary in your life. People know you for being that ‘miss money minded’ that they do not even want to get close to you. There itself is already set a boundary; no friends for you. Would you want to live your life alone with all the money in the world?
Yes, although you say that with all the money you can go on vacation, afford branded goods but how long will it actually last? Ten years maybe. After that? Nothing. Back to square one. Alone and grumpy. Complaining how life sucks without money. So, why start something that will never lead you to anything? I never believe that money is everything. I take life simple as it is. To me, being materialistic is definitely a waste of time. It is also a waste of effort. Furthermore, it defines who you are and limits your horizon in life.
