The biological process of a person plays a big part on the structure of an individual’s personality. The genes play a big part of how a person is, due to the inheritance already in their DNA by their family members. However health factors and environment influences on the individual’s personality may also contribute in the changes of their development. One of the most important areas in the human body for a human to function is the brain and the spinal cord. Together they control the body functions including the way people think and feel.
Professionals have studied that twins separated at birth and later on reunited have encountered similarities in their personality supporting that genes do have a major effect on personality. There is a story of 2 twins name Jim Lewis and Jim Springer who met after 39 years of being separated at birth. They were adopted by separate families in the state of Ohio. “Both had been named James by their adoptive parents, both had married twice; first to women named Linda and second to women named Betty. Both had children, including sons named James Allan. Both had at one time owned dogs named Toy. Both had high blood pressure, both had experienced what they thought were heart attacks, both had undergone vasectomies, and both suffered from migraine headaches. They even used the same words to describe these headaches. Both chain-smoked, both liked beer, both had woodworking workshops in their garages. Both drove Chevys, both had served as Sheriff’s deputies in nearby Ohio counties. They had even vacationed on the same beach in the Florida Gulf Coast. Both lived in the only house on their block (from Smithsonian, 1980).

The frontal lobe of the brain is in charge of the judgment, memory, language, motor function, solving problems, sexual behavior, spontaneity and socialization. An individual that has an accident hurting their brain specifically the frontal lobe or if they have health risk factors like a tumor or to much intake of alcohol, their frontal lobe may have difficulty with cognitive function, which can make them impulsive, also they can have the inability to plan and execute a behavior.
Parts of the brain that control the emotions, thoughts and perceptions are the hypothalamus and the amygdala. Emotions are different mental states in which the individual shows how they are feeling. Example can be an individual feeling tired due to overworking, this can make people assume he/she has had a change on their personality if they don’t know what the real fact is. An individual’s state of mind influences very much on a persons personality. A person that is smiling all the time and its social is perceive to the world as a happy person with very good interpersonal skills able to work with anyone and able to engage in any type of relationship, other than a person that looks always down will be perceived as an individual with no interpersonal skills, very boring to any relationship and no desire of success.
I can conclude that the biological development goes with the personality and the personality goes with the biology of the person. Each of them need one another to create the way a human being is. If something is wrong biologically the personality of the person will change. They both influence one another in the performance, ability and thinking of a person.
