“Border Town” the movie essay
In the dark gloomy border town of Juarez, Mexico, on the U.S. and Mexico border, thousands of young women working in American-owned factories are being raped and then brutally murdered. The movie “Border Town”, based on actual events, brings attention to this situation. The movie was very eye opening to me because of all that happened in the town of Juarez. “Border Town” could have had better audio and sound quality. However, the actors and their excellent acting, along with the great back ground and scenery, helped the audience to understand the seriousness of this issue.
George Morgan, the editor of a Chicago newspaper, told reporter Lauren Adrian to go down to Juarez, Mexico, and write about what was happening. He tells her that she that she is going to report on all of the young, innocent women that are being raped and killed. When she finally gives in and goes, she meets up with an old colleague of hers, Dias Alfonso, who owns a newspaper company in Juarez. Together they start their struggle to find a 17-year old girl, Eva, who had been raped and left for dead but somehow survived the attackers. They want to find her so bad because she is the only known survivor or the attackers. When they find her, Eva tells the reporters that she wants to find her attackers and put them in jail. This ends up being more difficult than they could have imagined.
In the second half of the movie, Lauren is trying to protect Eva and find her attackers. They also are trying to have fun and relax without having to worry about being attacked. At one point of the movie, they are at the same party where Eva’s attacker, but they could not do anything about it because he was being protected there. That is how Lauren figured out who Eva’s attacker was. Now all Lauren had to do was to figure out how to catch without getting killed herself. She ends up going undercover as a worker at the plant that Eva worked at and did exactly like Eva did every day. When she gets done with work she gets on the same bus that Eva did when she was attacked and tried to do everything that Eva did.
The Review on Economics Of The Movie Business
In this section I provide a review of the movie business with an emphasis on how blind bidding evolved from the Golden Age of Hollywood in the 1930‘s and 1940‘s until its demise in the beginning of 1986. For many decades blind bidding was not a concern for theater owners, because it was not the dominant method by which films were licensed. During the Golden Age, block booking was the way a ...
The bus driver said that he needed to stop and get some gas, so he started driving to what he said was a gas station. That was not true because he drove Lauren out into a junkyard and not a place that they had a trap ready to catch the attackers. When the bus stops, the driver said everything was ok and for her not to worry. That that is was when he attacked Lauren, but she called the back up at the other site and they came and saved her. They also caught the bus driver but both Eva and Lauren said that there were two people there even though they only found one.
Eva was going to go to court but only if they found both attackers and since they only found one of them she ran away and tried to get into the U.S. When she came back, she did go to court and the attacker did get convicted. Towards the end of the movie when Lauren is going to go back to the U.S., she wants to say good bye to Eva one more time. So she goes to where she thinks Eva is, back at her old house, when she gets there she is not there, but to her surprise Eva’s other attacker followed her there. Lauren and the other attacker get into a big fight. After a couple of minutes, Eva shows up and kills her attacker. Right before Lauren is going to leave, her old colleague, Diaz Alfonso gets shot and dies so Lauren starts running his newspaper, and Eva and her mom go back to India to live. “There are still many women being raped and killed till this day, and no one knows who is doing it.
The first thing about “Border Town” was that there were some pretty famous actors and actresses in this movie. They included Jennifer Lopez, Martian Sheen, and Antonio Banderas. All of them have had some previous awards for their acting in other movies. In “Border Town”, the actors seemed to be very well-suited for their roles, which made their characters even more believable. Most of all, the film seemed to have special meaning to all of them because “Border Town” tells the true story of what really happened to the young women in Juarez.
The Essay on Eva Duarte De Peron
Eva Duarte de Peron Evita Eva Maria Duarte was born on May 7, 1919. Her life began in the small village of La Union, Argentina. La Union is a small town near Buenos Aires. She was the youngest of five illegitimate children of Juan Duarte. Her father died in a car wreck when she was very young, and her family was forced to move to Junin. She was not allowed to attend the funeral of her father ...
Another thing that was good in “Border Town” was how the landscaping and background helped make everything more life-like. It showed how some of the poorest people have to live in tin huts and how some of the richest people are able to live in big fancy houses. The film also shows how in some parts of Juarez there are a lot of people all the time, but other parts are very empty. Also, when it is day out, there seems to be more people outside walking around, but when it gets dark, there are fewer people on the streets. This shows how it could be very easy for these girls to get abducted during the night. The vivid scenes that took place at the Chicago newspaper company, the Mexican newspaper and the Mexican factory were so eye-catching they make the audience keep watching, even if they do not like this type of movie.
Although the backgrounds were excellent, one thing that they could have worked on a little better was the sounds and audio. It’s not the music that they played in “Border Town”; the problem was mostly the quality of the sound. For example, when the actors were on the bus, there was so much noise from the bus it was hard to understand the conversations. Another Example is when Lauren and Eva are at the party. There is so much music that it was hard to hear the actors speaking. “Border Town” did have some really good authentic music in it; the quality was just not as clear as it could have been.
I never know that there were any problems in any part of Mexico because of how we live up here. Also how some people are always saying, “Let’s go down to Mexico for a vacation or spring break”? So, they are making it seem like a really nice place to be, but in reality there are only a couple of nice places to be and everywhere else is pretty dangerous. This movie made me really feel bad and sad for the poor people who have to live and work down there and how easy it is to live in the U.S. I also never realized that some of the problems caused down there were because of American owned companies and how they push their workers around.
The Essay on Illegal Immigrant Immigrants People Border
Costs and Contributions: The Wave From South of The Border Every year, hundreds of millions of people enter the US via land ports of entry, and the INS each year apprehends over 1. 3 million aliens at or near the border. Over 90 percent of those apprehended near the border are Mexicans, and some who enter the US legally and illegally are carrying drugs into the US. This influx of illegal ...
“Border Town” was a very enjoyable to watch for many reasons including, the actors and their excellent acting, along with the great background and scenery. There was one thing that I thought they could have done better and that was the sound quality. “Border Town” is a very moving movie that really helped to understand what was happening in Juarez, Mexico. Even though these acts are still going on today I’m positive that if more people start coming forward about the attacks like Eva did and more people like Lauren are willing to give up everything to help out in Juarez this problem will eventual disappear for good.
There are two main characters in this movie that are women and could be considered heroes for what they did and for what one is still doing in Juarez. I would consider Lauren and Eva both heroes, because Lauren wanted to help Eva and the other women of Juarez to the point where she gave up her other job in Chicago to continue to help out buy running the Juarez newspaper and telling her story. Eva is a hero by first out being able to survive her brutal attackers and also for wanting to find them and not just continue on like nothing happened. I don’t think I can decide who the better hero is though because both do very amazing things.
