Listening Assignment: “Born To Run” Bruce Springsteen If you talk many people who listen to classic rock and ask them if they know who “the boss” is and most would respond with one name, Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen has been an American rock n’ roll icon for almost three decades. For my listening assignment I chose to listen to Bruce’s breakout album “Born to Run”. Springsteen has been using the same band for years, The E Street band. Without this collection of hand picked musicians, now all good friends from their many years of touring and recording together it can be seen that the E Street band was essential to the success of Bruce Springsteen. After two albums that were not as successful as anticipated he came out with his third album “Born to Run”. The album “Born to Run” was one where he laid out all of his emotions and passion through his lyrics and melodies and it was a album that made him the legend that he is today.
“Born to Run” starts the album out with the deep song called “thunder road”. Many believe it to be his best song. Bruce himself says this about the song “So this was my… it was my big, my big invitation to my audience, to myself, [chuckles] to uh… anybody who was interested. Uh… my invitation to a long and earthly, very earthly journey. Hopefully in the company of uh, someone you love, people you love, and in search of a home you can feel a part of. Good luck and good evening.” -Bruce Springsteen. The song starts off with a slow piano melody and then comes in strong at the end. The next song on the album is called “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out”, which many do not know the meaning of the title but it was believed to be about the formation of the E-Street band. This shows how “born to run” just the two opening tracks set the story of Bruce Springsteen and and his life and this is just another reason why “Born to Run” is important to American music. Another song with a lot of meaning is the song “Backstreets”. It begins with a minute long introduction with the piano and organ being played. It is said that the song is about the relationship between two friends, telling about the life in his hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey. The title song, “Born to Run” off the album could be the most influential song on the album.
The Essay on Bruce Springsteen “My Hometown”
Not many songs depict true socio-economic class differences and changes in the last half century as “My Hometown” by Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen has always taken up the anthem of the working class in this country, and this song is no different. Although seemingly a story of one man’s life told in three different parts, he accurately describes what life was like during this time for a young, and ...
This is a powerful song from right off the bat, it comes in with exciting rhythm and between the powerful guitar chords and hard hitting drums it keeps you captivated throughout the whole song. The song “born to run” has probably the most impact on America during his rise to fame. This song is important because it really shows how this was Springsteen’s last-ditch effort to be successful. His previous two albums were considered unsuccessful after being signed to his record label. The song “born to run” really was him laying everything out on the line. It talks about how he was meant for stardom and how he expected bigger and better things and his music started becoming more spontaneous. This song really showed pure emotion and the way in which he performs his songs only makes people love them more.
One way this song impacted American culture is this song and the rest of the album is it’s telling the story of an American man trying to do something he loves to be successful, leaving everything out on the line for the people to love it or hate it. Fortunately, this album was a huge hit. With a couple songs in between “born to run” the last song on the album could very well be the most underrated song on the album. “Jungleland” starts off with a great violin introduction into a piano melody that sticks with you for awhile. It is a ten minute song to close his third album and with a fantastic saxophone solo by Clarence Clemmons, also known as “the big man”. This powerful solo embodies the smoothness of the song and it is a main reason the song is so powerful. The song is about a man who is going to pick up a girl “over the Jersey state line” to take a stab at romance. This song pulls the whole album together in a way that takes you from Springsteen being somewhat hopeful desperation for his longing of success.
The Essay on Justin Song Album Make
I'll say straight up that I'm not nor ever was an N'sync fan. The 80's are over and so is the mandate for me to listen to and love pop... I like a bit more substance to my music. But even still, some albums or songs are so catchy, with great beats that even as pop or r&b records they make you run out to the store and purchase them. I thought this was the case w/ Timberlake, as the first single ...
