campaign finance reform is something not many people talk about in this country. Most people do not even realize the planning and preparation that goes into financing a presidential campaign. People do not realize how much money is contributed to these campaigns for illegitimate reasons for people’s own person gain. The concept of the financial reform of the presidential campaign intrigued me because the elections are coming up. I have watched and witnessed so many debates throughout my time it’s actually something that I think more people should know about. In my opinion there is so much debate going on with the candidates that they forget to really see and reach out to the people that matter in our society. They are more worried about showing well to certain parties and creating controversy for the other candidate. Money is being spent all over the place and contributions are made from all over that it continues to make more corruption not less. Our laws and rights in this country almost make it very difficult to really be able to reform the presidential campaign back to where and what it should really be about. The best candidate should be able to run and be elected to control our nation and to create more opportunity and make our society more peaceful. The three main things that I think would change when dealing with the reform of financing the Presidential campaign are changing the structure of where they should spend their finances when reaching out to the public, presidential campaign should be more about freedom of speech, and finally personal, select, high up contributions should be lessened.

As I researched some insight on the contributions that make up a majority of the corruption with presidential campaigns I began to understand more concepts of managing finances and where money is really spent. The economics of money, banking, and financial markets set the standard for money and banking and it continues to be the worldwide market leader. The historic economic events and financial crises of late 2008 have changed the entire landscape of money and banking. We as a nation need to be more focused on choosing the best candidate to represent our nation. We do not need to dwell on the negatives of other candidates and shell out tons of money for resources that do not help the general public. We are continuing to create more separation between what is right and wrong in this county. We need to focus more on the good and better things we can do to help ourselves become more mindful of opportunities and create futures for our young striving society. For example in Smith’s, “Unfree Speech: The Folly of Campaign Finance Reform,” he argues that that all restriction on campaign giving should be eliminated. He presents a bold, convincing argument for the repeal of laws that regulate political spending and contributions, contending that they violate the right to free speech and ultimately diminish citizens’ power. I understood from his book and his ideas that campaign finance reform is widely viewed as synonymous with cleaning up the governmental ladder and promoting political equality.
Smith explains that some of these laws, which often force ordinary people making modest contributions of cash or labor to register with the Federal Election Commission or various state agencies, fail to accomplish their stated objectives. Some laws are actually working against society to block in and have worked to entrench incumbents in office, kill campaign discourse, burden grassroots political activity and distance Americans from an uprising professional, detached political class. Rather than attempting to tie up knots and close out “loopholes” in campaign finance law or instituting taxpayer financed campaigns, Bradley Smith proposes a return to the core First Amendment values of free speech and a right to engage in political activity. He also explains that campaign contributing does not have a lot of effect on the legislature. Throughout his research and the book he expresses that more money, not less, is needed in the political system. Contributions and spending can enhance equality if done properly for the right reasons. We as a society need to help enhance the political parties with the proper spending in the right areas.
The Essay on Book Review on Campaign Finance
Campaign finance reform has already become an issue for debate in this election year's primaries. This matter does not hold a large amount of interest for the average American, it is not an issue that is going to sway a large amount of voters. The book examines all facets of campaign finance including sources of contributions and finance reform. The book then takes a close, hard look at the 1980 ...
As I researched through the resources used a common notion in my opinion is created upon constitutional law and historical ideas and concepts to explain why campaign finance regulation fails and is guaranteed to illustrate the potential drastic money spent on efforts to make it succeed. Whatever one thinks about the impact of money on politics, no one should take a final stand without controversial and important arguments from research that they have investigated. According to Frederic Mishkin he has the unique insider’s perspective from his time in governmental office. He represents how the current state of money and banking explain the latest debates and issues we face in finance today. These books and authors are all related to the topic of reforming the financial spending of the presidential campaign. There are many different options and we need to relate them to the people that matter and decide who and where money and financés should be spent. In my experience the candidate that out spends the others is more likely to win the election. The spending needs to be spent in the right areas and arenas.
During this semester I have learned to open my eyes as an individual and as a contributing citizen in today’s society. We should all be aware and understand the spending during elections and presidential debates. There are many ways to reach out to the public and capture an audience. This is America and we need to stand up for the hard working country we are. We base our actions and beliefs on great leadership and character. We as society need to be able to differentiate between leaders and choose who the best is. The finances of the presidential campaign need to stay focused on the positives of the candidates and how they can better our country and our people. Time, money and energy should not be wasted on negative animosity towards the other candidates and contributions are needed to continue making our country money. We need to give money to get money in this country. It is what our economy is associated with and we should get back to basics of showing off the best candidate in the most positive light.
The Essay on Soft Money Campaign Reform Issue
In the 2000-2001 election cycle, the issue of campaign finance reform was brought to the forefront by Senator John McCain (R-Az) as his key issue in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. His loss in the primary, however, only delayed a showdown on the matter within the Republican Party. With President Bush in office, McCain has introduced a new version of his reform legislation, co- ...
In conclusion, the reformation of financing the presidential campaign is up to you and me to help better our society. We need to be aware of what type of spending goes on so we can distinctively and actively participate constructively to helping the dispersement of funds correctly. We as a society need to be able to reform the spending of the presidential campaigns by staying involved and up to date with the finances. I have learned to research and understand the ins and outs of what matters in a presidential campaign and how people contribute and where those contributions should go. The public plays a big part in the campaigns, spending, contributions and the overall verdict of voting and choosing the best candidate they believe is best for our country. It is a process and over time reforming the finance of the presidential campaign is a must for our society.
