California may have a shortage of electrical power but not a lot of rap-rock bands. The latest is the 7 man crazy town lead by rapper Shifty Shellshock and former hip-hop producer Brett ‘Epic’ Mazur and (who’s credits in clue tracks for MC Lyte and Bell Biv De Voe).
Their sound is a hey guitar stomp except for the ethereal ‘Buttefly’ which has turned the Gift of Game into a top 40 hit. The abundantly ta tooted Shellshock calls in on his cellphone while he drives around in circles on Melrose Ave. ‘I was in prison with psychopathic wife beaters and murderers. It was like therapy.’ Do u prefer to be called Shifty or Mr.
