Cartoon Network. Everyone knows about it, but what are the differences of it is now compared to how it used to be? Well, Im here to help explain that. Lately, I’ve noticed allt he rediculous changes that have been made, and its been making me a little angry. I miss the old Cartoon Network, where they would air shows that never had to explain what they’re doing, you either got the joke or you didnt and moved on. The shows now are just rediculous. THe children now who watch it have NO IDEA what they missed in the past. Now its time to go back in the past (yes you can do that, just have to be creative about doing it LOL) and take a walk down memory lane.
The Past
Welcome to the past Cartoon Network. Here lies the shows that were amazing, hilarous and taught you how to really enjoy cartoons. There were so many shows aired, of course I cant list them all, but I can list the ones that were pretty popular.
Cow and Chicken, I am Weasel, Johnny Bravo, Tom and Jerry (re runs of this show are played on the weekdays), Powerpuff Girls, Popeye, Looney Tunes (they just recently started airing the originals again), Mike, Lu and Og, Animaniacs, Dexters Laboratory, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, Time Squad, Ed, Edd n Eddy (reruns aired on week days), Sheep in the Big City, Courage the Cowardly Dog (reruns showed on week days now), Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, Samurai Jack, Captain Planet, Johnny Quest, Hamtaro, Reboot and Code Lyoko.
There are TONS more then that, but like I said I cant name them all. I’ve seen every single one of those shows, and loved them. Most people I know grew up with these shows. These shows were amazing. They didnt have to explain anything, just went with it. Occasionally, I go and watch a few episodes of these shows, just to know that real cartoons still exsist.
The Essay on Cartoon Network
The channel was launched on October 1, 1992, after Turner purchased the animation studio Hanna-Barbara Productions in 1991. It was originally a 24-hour outlet for classic animation properties from the Turner Broadcasting libraries and was all-ages-oriented, but now the channel targets kids and teens (about ages 8-15) with mature content during its late night daypart Adult Swim, which is treated as ...
Cartoon Network Now
Now its time to see the shows airing now. Cartoon Network has changed so much. They cancelled all these amazing shows to make room for shows that explain stuff and are not even funny. Some of these shows are as follows:
Adventure Time: Ok this show shouldnt even BE on Cartoon Network. My friend and I actually were talking about this how the other day. There are so many sexual innuendos in this show, its dirty and makes me wonder how a show like that even got on.
Regular Show: Misleading title. Its not ‘regular’, its stupid. This show makes no sense and they explain EVERYTHING. Thats not how cartoons are supposed to be.
Destroy Build Destroy: Here comes the REAL shows. The ones that have nothing to do with CARTOONS. This one is about people who blow stuff up, Im guessing they do it for science. This isnt the only real show either.
Dude, What Would Happen: This is another real show. This kinda reminds me of Mythbusters, but with teens doing stupid stuff. I’ve tried watching it and was not amused at all.
Problem Solvers: Im not even sure what this is supposed to be about. I saw a commercial about it, and from what I saw the main character looks like a rip off of Domo, and he runs around yelling his name Alfe.
Hole in the Wall: Now this is such a HUGE rip off of the JAPANESE tv show called Human Tetris, except the Japanese one is much funnier. Come on people, make something DIFFERENT for once.
Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated: This is NOT the classic Scooby Doo. This one is much more in depth, and Velma actually makes advances on Shaggy. The classic Scooby Do Where are You? was about mysteries and being scared, this Scooby Doo seems to focus mainly on relationships between the gang, with SOME mystery solving.
