There are three types of people in this world. The ones who accept change as soon as the change happens, the ones who hate change and only think pessimistically about it, and the ones who are skeptical at first but then eventually accept the change and make something positive out if it. People should be more like this; doubtful at first but after much deliberation accept the change. The first type of person is the person that accepts change as soon as it happens.
In the short film, “Who Moved My Cheese,” the characters Sniff and Scurry, and Hem and Haw, are faced with a huge change when their cheese has been moved to a different area of the maze. Sniff and Scurry, two little brown mice, are upset at first, but after a short while they get their running shoes and right away go to look for the cheese, not wasting any time. They looked at the moving of the cheese as a great opportunity to explore the maze, and eventually they found the cheese. Meanwhile, Hem and Haw were still at the old area, where the cheese used to be, sulking away, not accomplishing anything.
Which brings me to the second type of person. Hem, a little person, a bit on the heavy side if you ask me, probably from eating too much cheese, is the type that does not like change at all and is very stubborn to accept it. When he and his friend Haw discovered that the cheese had moved, all Hem did was pout and complain that he was very hungry and that he wanted his cheese back. Obviously, this kind of behavior doesn’t get him anywhere and it surely didn’t get him any cheese. It is pointless to behave like this because it is a waste of time and nothing gets resolved if this is all a person would do if faced with change.
The Essay on College Changed Person
So far, the college experience has made me a changed person. College changed me into a better person on many occasions. I have learned to be more responsible, when it comes down to getting work done. In college you must be responsible. I have also changed my attitude. Moving from high school to college is a big step; if you don't change your ways for the better then you might not be successful in ...
Haw soon realized this. Finally, the third type of person is one that is hesitant at first but after analyzing the problem of the change soon become aware that he / she must do something in order to make the change useful. Haw was unsure at first of what would become of himself as well as Hem but when he noticed how bad their situation what getting, he came to the conclusion that they should be like Sniff and Scurry and go look for more cheese. He tried to convince Hem that their behavior wasn’t getting them anywhere and that they should make an effort to look for more cheese. Hem, being stubborn, declined, and so Haw went out to look for the cheese by himself and he soon found it. People should be more like Haw.
It is natural that people are upset when faced with change and they would rather not go through it, but it is a part of life. People must accept this. I admit, I don’t like change either and it takes me a while to adjust. I recently moved into a new home, along with my family. It was especially hard to move into a new home after living almost 18 years in the same place. I moved away from everything I knew; familiar streets, the friends I grew up with and went to school with since pre-school.
I was able to get from place to place without even thinking of which street I should turn on next. When I moved from all that, I first thought about how will I be able to get around the new town, where are all the good malls were at, and what kind of friends will I meet. I didn’t want new friends, new streets to learn, or different malls to go to. I wanted my life to be like how it always had been. After constant deliberation I realized that maybe moving may not be the end of the world. I started to think positively.
I’ve always loved meeting new and interesting people, so I made an effort and I went to the local restaurant and I applied for a job there. After being accepted I was able to meet new co-workers and after they had learned that I just moved into the area they right away told me the cool places to go, the nice mall, the different restaurants that people hang out at on the weekends. Going to these places I was able to get accustomed and I adapted well to my new surroundings. To conclude, people must accept change much like the way Haw does because it is the most normal way and if people didn’t accept change, like Hem, life would be very difficult to live and there would be no emotional progress. People lead happier and fuller lives when they accept change.
The Essay on To what extent did the status of Black people change in the years 1945 to 1955?
I would agree with this statement but I would also think there are aspects of the status of black people that did change in these years and the impacts of which could be debated. In 1945, the Second World War ended. Black people’s status hadn’t changed but their attitudes had. They started to question why they were fighting for freedom in other countries, against the Nazi oppression of ...
Sometimes it takes a while but that’s just the way life is.
