When Charles Darwin’s Theory first arose, people were interested and amazed. Now that it has led to things like robber baron capitalism, justifying Nazism, racism, fascism, communism and countless things that have weakened our society, people have begun to wonder. These things have hurt our citizens and destroyed our countries. Communism is one that many can think of how it has badly effected our civilization. It is said that the founders of communism, Marx and Engels, were among the first to read The Origin of Species, by: Charles Darwin. This book thoroughly explained his theory of evolution.
They were amazed by it’s “dialectical materialist” feeling. Later on, Engels wrote a book based on Darwin’s research; his book explained communism. All communists’ leaders of Russia are said to have agreed with Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. These leaders and others of communism have showed us what a horrible thing it is.
Communism was the cause of about 120 million deaths during the 20 th century. The countries that practice communism including Cuba, China, Vietnam, and Korea face other problems as well, such as poverty and economic difficulties. Many of them are 3 rd world countries and their people live without basic necessities. Communism is the beliefs of the conditions of the freedom of the common people.
Communism is tied to Darwin’s Theory in many ways. Both communism and Darwinism are complicated and extensive. First of all the fact that communism is a freethinker opinion (atheist ideology) is the main reason why it is linked to Darwinism. Darwin’s Theory of evolution states that as nature evolves it is likely that whatever happens, it is thanks to disaster (in other words ‘the struggle for survival’) which means it supports the idea of “dialectics” and those are basics to communism. It is said that the particular statement “survival of the fittest” was later on suitable in helping explain the concept of communism. Another way to say that communism started from Darwinism is that if all things evolved from ‘natural law’ (Darwinism), then man’s beliefs, not God’s Word, decide what is right and wrong (communism).

In conclusion many people blame Darwin for problems in our society. I can definitely see why people feel this way. Communism is a difficult thing for me to understand, just like Darwinism.
