Warrants:
If parents were as strict as they were before then children wouldn’t misbehave as bad as they do now. Backing:
Relating our own personal childhood and parents to nowadays. When we think about our childhood we also think about the time we were punished for being disrespectful and misbehaving. Most of us can remember the one look our parents gave us, the look that would let us know we were in trouble. Possible counterarguments or questions about my claim:
There is more single parents in this generation than there was a decade ago. Being a single parent is challenging and requires more time and effort it is like being a mother and father to your child. Some single parents have up to two jobs thus they end up with little or no time left to discipline their children. As a result single parents often tend to lead more of a permissive parenting style which means the child has more authority over any situation. Child and parent connection play a very important role in discipline. My Rebuttal:
Troublesome behavior in children has increased over the years some might argue that troublesome child behavior is caused by genetic disorders. Through medical research doctors have been able to identify medical causes for this behavior. “A child’s behavior is a product of his temperament. A child with a strong temperament is more likely to have behavior problems than a child with a mild temperament. Temperament is controlled by genetics”, according to the North Carolina State University Cooperative Extension CITATION Amync \l 1033 (Amy Kaminsky).
