U. S. Looks to Ease Tensions In Asia The Deputy Secretary of State has planned a five nation trip. The purpose of this trip is to bring peace between not only India and Pakistan but also China and Taiwan. India and Pakistan continue to dispute about the ownership of Kashmir. There is hope of peace talks to take place between the two countries.
Upon his visit to China and Taiwan, Richard Armitage hopes to bring China and Taiwan to terms with their disagreement about Taiwan declaring formal independence. Both effect me as a teenage U. S. citizen because of the fact that some forty percent of all Chinese exports are being shipped to the U.
S. and because and because I believe that if Pakistan and Iran were to focus less on claiming Kashmir, and more on their economy perhaps there would be improvements. Gunmen Kill 6 at Christian School in Pakistan Four men killed 5 people in the process of trying to enter a Pakistani Christian Boarding School. Those who were killed consisted of two guards, three school employees, and a bystander. Because of the precautions taken following preceding anti-Western attacks, none of the students were harmed. I feel that this effects me directly because of the fact that I am an American Christian and to know that people of a different religion are determined to kill people like me just to prove a point frightens me and strips me of my security.

Many Uruguayans waited outside the banks to empty their accounts and hold their own money because they no longer have trust in the banking system in their country. Haiti Protestors Take Over City Most of Haiti has called for an uprising against their president. They claim that he had put together an attack to silence protestors that left 10 people dead. There has been a prison break resulting in fires being set to city hall and courthouse. The protestors have asked for an interim government, new elections, and higher wages for police and other state workers. This effects me because if one person in political power does have the power to manipulate murders in his country, it could just possibly spread to others.
