Christine De Pisan went thro+9- ugh many struggles as a young woman growing up. She faced early marriage, her father passing on and ten years later she was widowed like her mother with three children to raise alone. Despite her drawbacks she kept on the right track and continued her studies. With all her self-perseverance she became the first of a long line of feminists.
Her work was not of the feminists we now know see in newspapers, or on TV, she just hinted the elements that a woman had that made their society possible. She had no specific purpose to say that women were equal individuals. With the average attitude of feminists today it is not hard to believe that the rights of the women all started with a self-educated, widowed with three children and a mother to take care of. I give her credit to the fact that she was the original feminist of sorts.
She started the long grueling battle of equal rights for women that are still being fought today. Christine De Pisan was the shape shifter of society. Women are being treated very well now with many laws and standards that allow them to do any profession, get the same voting rights, and basically do anything that a man can do. This is a great accomplishment that Pisan does not get enough credit for.
The most that Pisan could do at the time was to defend the rights of a woman in that they were no longer to be mistreated in sorts and live with a little more respect. She provided proof that men would be nowhere without them to help out. The prominence of man was being fought by the research of the famous women before her along with scientific facts about women that made them appear ‘Philosophically’ to be the most important building block of human kind. The words of the bible were used in defense of all womankind in the way that they had been made the way they are supposed to be made, as were men and they cannot or should not hold that against them.
The Essay on Women And Men Communicate Differently
Women and Men Communicate Differently The process of neo-Liberal dogmas, such as celebration of diversity and elimination of sexism, being showed up peoples throats, brought about a situation, when employment policies correspond less and less to the objective reality of interaction between genders at workplace. Men and women are expected to execute their professional duties with the same ...
Their inclinations of such were all meant to be and that they were being treated unfair because of gods doing. This was to me probably one of the most noticed as well as dreaded remarks for men. In the day of strong Christian beliefs there was no argument to push her back down to silence. This sparked the start of the new feminist era that shaped society, as we know it today. In the mid ages, the use of the Bible was the usual final argument or you were thought as an Atheist and shun upon. This opened up the window of voice for women.
The struggle for equality was now taken to the next and second step with the first defensive voice for women clearly being heard. Christine paved the road for feminists to travel. The recognition of women was more common due to her work. Society had a new view on sexism that has since escalated into new heights.
You might think of her as the grandmother of all feminists. The fallowing voices of feminism are branches off of Pisan. Pisan was the first to be recognized for her work. I do believe that her messages were the watered down ones that are brought up today. All that she really wanted was for women to be recognized as a part o society. This has since changed into recognized as equals of the world.
The whole idea was hers to begin with. She just had the courage to actually say something, which sparked the feminist fire. The idea of equal was an evolving idea. Women in the middle ages were more accustom to being the homemakers while the men worked. Eventually women had to go to work.
That then sparked the equivalent rights in the workplace. From then on is fine-tuning of equality. I am a believer that the comparison to Christine De Pisan to the feminists now is like comparing the homerun kings Babe Ruth to mark Maguire in Baseball. The times, equipment and amount of training has since changed.
There are different variables that come into play just like Pisan’s view on equality. All in all I believe that you cannot compare Pisan’s feminist arguments to the new age views because the times have since changed. Pisan is the grandmother of Feminism and has since influenced the way that women live to this date.
The Essay on Women in the Work Environment
Women in the Work Environment If anyone plans to celebrate Equal Pay Day, they should understand that it is a travesty compared to what women actually have to face with in real life. It is true that society has improved the way it treats women overall. They are no longer limited to household work and have the right to vote. However, that does not stop society from using stereotypical ideas from an ...
