Education People who lack in education with computers may not be able to access the internet for working online for a particular job. People who are also illiterate and innumerate may find it difficult to read and write such as filling out forms for resources like bank accounts, a loan, a driver’s licence and also to apply for a job. People who are educated highly and that have greater knowledge have greater access to resources to gaining a job. Disability
In the past someone with a disability might find it difficult to access some resources for getting a job such as any resource that needed sight, hearing, speech etc. Today people have greater access to resources to help them with gaining a job with technologies such as hearing aids and cochlear implants have allowed greater access to and availability of resources like communication, language and education which all affects getting a job in some way. Age
Someone’s age influences the types of resources they can access and also the types of resources that are available to them such as, a person under the age of 14 and 9 months cannot legally be employed. A child under the age of about two does not have the language skills to speak, read or write and has had no education, so therefore has less access to knowledge than an older child or an adult who has better resources of getting a job because of these skills. Gender Most resources are available to both men and women.
However, concepts of masculinity and femininity can influence the types of resources people access. Resources that are stereotyped by society as being feminine such as nursing or childcare or as being masculine such as managerial or labouring jobs have an influence on the resources accessed by men and women because of society. However, these viewpoints are changing and more men and women are choosing jobs that they want to do instead of being stereotyped by society.
