His older brother, Robert, was killed in World War II. During the election, his opinions were more liberal than Nixons were. He was a winning personality, lively family, good intelligence, tireless energy, and courage. During the debates, he was poised and confident. In 1961, he became the youngest president, and the 1st one to be of the Roman Catholic religion. His personal charm and promise to get the country moving again got him the presidency. His term was never fulfilled, as he was shot and killed on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. Richard Milhous Nixon was born in California on January 9, 1913. His father had merely a 6th grade education and moved jobs constantly. Nixon ranked 3rd in his graduating class of 25 and was extremely intelligent.
