Compare and Contrast Essay
The Sun and The Moon
A bright bold star showers the earth in rays of golden light throughout the day, while its smaller cousin, cool and intense, engulfs the dark shadows of the night in silver beams. Located near the center of the Milky Way, the sun sits in its glorified power, glaring its fiery eyes on planet Earth as it heats up the atmosphere. A close companion of Earth, the moon; dances around its orbit, pushing and pulling at the tides as it goes. Earth relies heavily upon both the rising and setting celestial spheres; the sun’s magnificent rays of light and heat, yet also the gravitational hold on the tides is the moon’s work alone.
During the day, the earth is filled with the loud, “hustle-bustle” sounds of busy lives. The sun views the entire commotion taking place and adds to the excitement with his overbearing light, brutally piercing the delicate eyes of the planet’s creatures. Rising in the east, the sun never makes a timid entrance as he washes away the night’s previous mysteries. The moon calmly turns her face away from earth’s view as she waits for the arrival of the twilight evening to later emerge. The confident sun inspires life, proudly taking the initiative to enhance growth and spirit during the day, he knows of his influential power over the world and rudely declares the attention of every creature inhabited on Earth. Creatures of the earth rarely look up at the sun directly, in fear that they may be blinded by his vigorous light. The sun can cause much damage; burns, dehydration, fires and other harmful factors can result from one dwelling under the intensity for too long. After a restless day, the robust sun leaves the earth exhausted, as night finally creeps around.
The Essay on Sir Isaac Newton Earth Moon Light
Isaac Newton Isaac Newton was born on Christmas day in 1642. He was also born premature and wasn't expected to live. His father died three months before he was born, leaving his mother alone to raise him. His mother remarried to Barnabas Smith. He was a rather wealthy man and he forced his new wife to leave her son with his grandparents while they go live in South Witham. For everything that's ...
As the mighty sun bows before his rising cousin, he leaves the sky in a disarray of brilliant, fiery colors. Undisturbed by the unrefined display, the moon climbs into the darkening sky; the illuminating beams of moonlight awaken the unknown marvels of the night. The air is crisper and cooler under the moon’s soothing glow. The moon tenderly rids the earth of its weariness while remaining peacefully silent in its solitude. As a result of the ever watching and listening moon, all of the night’s secrets and mysteries are revealed to it. The sun may rule the planet during the day, but at night, every creature awake under the stars belongs to the moon; from the flickering fireflies to the reflecting green eyes of a prowling panther. The wild beasts of the night are drawn to the alluring glow of the moon as she welcomes company. Nurturing and beautifying, the moon holds the gazes of curious eyes of the nocturnal beings, neither harming them nor frightening them as the sun so often does. At the darkest and coldest hour of the night, she immerses all the shadows in lustrous drops of moonlight, transforming a hidden world into a celestial wonderment. But the awe doesn’t last more than a nights’ vigil, for dawn never disregards the task to awaken the world; to once again bestow it under the unforgiving eyes of the conceited sun.
