Computer Companies
The first hardware company I decided to research was JVC Digital Storage. JVC manufactures many electronic devices, including televisions and stereos. In addition to those products, they make computer hardware. Some hardware that they specialize in are:
Wireless Network Cameras
Duplicators
Modems
JVC is always coming out with new products to improve upon their previous hardware. One of the newest products is the CD/DVD Library. This product is an improvement from older ones because this one has a fast disc exchange, along with a multi-tasking device. Also, it has one of the best cost per megabyte storage solution. CD/DVD libraries are mentioned in our text in chapter 4, a section which deals with audio and video input devices.
The next company I have researched is Jumbo Computers. Jumbo Computers was started in Taiwan, and offers a complete range of computer products and ports. Some of the more frequently manufactured hardware products at Jumbo Computers are:
Internet Sharing Hub
Terminal Emulation Card
Motherboards
One of the most recent products Jumbo Computers has released is the Fax/Modem PC Card. The advantage of using this product, rather than older versions is there is a lower power consumption and automatic sleep mode to extend PC battery life. Also, it has advanced Microsoft Plug and Play technology to run with Windows 95. Our text discusses Fax/Modem PC Cards in Chapter 5.
