Correlation as a measure of association summary that involves testing relationships between two variables. The focus for the test will be based on the strengths of the association and the direction. According to Leedy and Ormrod, (2010) “A correlation exist if, when one variable increase, another variable either increases or decrease in a somewhat predictable fashion”. Relying on the differences of the results, and what will have some common result will help to determine the test using correlation as a measure of association summary. The different methods of establishing correlation between variables can depend on what method a researcher is using. Example of a correlation will be between 30 12th grade students, they all have the same test score on their finals but some are low income and the others are middle class. The research will be based on the 12th grade students filling out the same college applications, and finding out which students will be accept the most.
Will it be the middle class because they have the financial gain or the low income will win because they thrive to do more because of the back ground they came from is less fortunate. Finding out the characteristics of something and what sets them apart to establish a result can be done, with the accurate number of people, animals, plants know matter what topic may be. There have to be some type of characteristic with the topic to help determine what sets them apart. A survey can also be done as a method of correlation. Conducting a survey with a group of women who all suffered abuse, how many women had a father in their home and one’s who do not have a father. Could that be a factor to why they allowed another individual to abuse them, finding out if a father figure could be a result will be the topic for the survey.

PART ONE: For each of the following four studies, indicate (a) the purpose of the study, and (b) the type of research method used: observation, case study, survey, the correlational method, experimentation). If the investigators used the method of experimentation, indicate the independent and dependent variables. Please write in your own words and do not copy from the study descriptions. 1. A ...
The different methods of establishing between variables can be done by using surveys, scatter plots, face to face interviews, and online surveys. These methods can help determine the similarities as well as what sets them apart to find the answer. “In all correlational studies, be alert for faulty logic. When two variables are correlated researchers sometimes conclude that one of the variables must in some way influence the other”. (Leedy and Ormrod, (2010).
In all correlational studies, be alert for faulty logic. When two variables are correlated, researchers sometimes conclude that one of the variables must in some way influence the other.
The advantage of these methods is it will help to find a solution to an ongoing problem no matter what the time process is. Finding what is the beginning process and what the ending should look like will help to establish what method of correlation method will be used. Finding out if the research will use humans, animals, plants needs to be established as well will figuring out what method to use. Correlation as a measure of association summary will help to determine the relationship between a certain variables which in time will help to establish the characteristics they share and what sets them apart.
