Counter-strike is the most played multi-player fps (first-person shooter) game on the Internet. I have been playing it since it’s early stages when it was filled with bugs and few people had ever heard of it. I’ve played it so much that I have become very good at it. It is very difficult being excellent at Counter-strike because it requires god-like reflexes, a memorization of maps and tactics, and a love for the game. With these virtues, I’ve become feared across the Counter-strike servers.
Reflexes are very important in any fps. Without them, you are fragged (fps lingo for “killed”) before you have a chance to react. A person who is slow to react in a fast paced fps like Counter-strike is a sitting duck waiting to be shot. However, reflex means more than just the ability to react quickly. Reflexes are useless unless the right action is taken when you react. The exact placement of each key that performs a function must be burned into your brain. This is mandatory because, pressing the key in the shortest amount of time cannot be a conscious act. It must be honed to become a sub-conscious act. There is no time to think during a gunfight. Superior reflexes will make you superior in battle, but your chances of winning are greatly improved if you make use of tactics.
Tactics are an important element in Counter-Strike. If everybody took the same path through a map every game, the opposing side would adjust and easily frag the entire team. There are always at least two paths through a map and usually there are three. It is a good idea to communicate with your team and launch massive assaults through one path, or stay back and guard certain areas, or spread out into small groups. Being unpredictable is the most frustrating thing for the enemy. The different options can be honed and made even more dangerous through proper map knowledge. Instead of going one way, you can go through half way and complete an objective, then circle back and complete another objective. These are all map tactics. There is another form of tactics in Counter-strike and that comes in the form of weapon tactics. If you are fighting in a relatively small map with plenty of close range combat, it is a good idea to purchase a powerful but inaccurate rifle or a sub-machine gun with a large clip. An accurate rifle with scope, or sniper rifle, should be purchased on maps with long tunnels or with large gunfights. These tactics require conscious memorization of what works and what does not. However, these tactics are specific to Counter-strike and can only be mastered if you have a love for the game.
The Essay on Counter Strike Dod Clan Raf
For me, the obsession started around September of 2001. I remember the day very clearly. I was in Computer Related Studies class in High school. That's when my friends and I started talking about Half-Life, and its new popular mod, "Counter-Strike." That day after school I rushed home with my cracked copy, and installed Half-Life and counter-strike. I would look forward to the end of each school ...
A love for the game ensures that you practice. The more you practice; the more you’ll like the game. The more you like the game; the more you practice.
