Abstract
This paper provides an analysis on DNB, one of the most renowned and traditional news program in China, under the pressure of losing audience rating. Based on previous related studies, the paper explores the major causes that lead to audience loss. Besides the study make a comparison between DNB and News1+1(N11).
And according the inspiration from N11, the author comes up with many suggestions on its reformation. And the paper comes to the conclusion that DNB needs to reform both its language style and content selection tendency to overcome challenges. Also it cannot be entertaining, which needs reformers to achieve a balance between attracting audiences and maintaining its dignity!

1. Introduction
CCTV (china central television) which is china’s official television station has been established for over 55 years since 1958, and now have total 45 channels all broadcast through satellites towards all over the world. Those channels together provide a wide variety of television programs covering nearly all aspects of life. The most well known and most influential programme, undoubtedly, is its daily news broadcast carried out from 7pm to 7:30. Because of its authority, CCTV news has so high status in the press .In other words, the Perspectives and attitudes presented in DNB to every significant current affair almost represent china government’s attitudes. Currently this time-honored programme is facing a serious problem, the reduction of the rating. even though it almost monopolizes the peak viewing time by forcing local televisions to relay it , audiences exodus, especially the loss of youth audiences , brings about a enormous challenge and crisis to the leaders of CCTV and even to the governors, that is how to revitalize DNB?
Government certainly won’t cancel this programme because it is an essential vehicle that has been used to disseminate information and views to people on behalf of government.
