The growth and development of young children, also the young people are influenced, by many personal factors, detrimentally affecting certain children, more than others. The impact can be positive as well as negative. For example, the opposite of poverty is wealth and a child growing up in a home with no financial worries, may be well fed, and clothed; they may have plenty of opportunities for educational development.
However, disadvantages have a different influence, when they have not come from a loving and supportive family background.
All who work with the said child or young person need to be fully aware, of these factors? They will need to be encouraged for them to participate, and develop as much as they possibly could.
Personal Factors (Pupils Health):
Many factors influence a child/young person development. Before birth or after birth, development may be affected.
Antenatal, this is the phase from conception to birth. For the duration of this period, primarily the standard of living of the mother affects the development of the child.

When the mother smokes or takes drugs they become ill, suffers from anxiety attacks, consequently this can lead to premature birth plus health problems. For the baby such as, low birth weight; undeveloped organs; problems with sight, along with hearing problems or deafness, which can result in the delay of their speech and language development, this can have an enormous impact on their personal well being.
Prenatal, this is the actual time of birth. Babies born before 37 weeks are premature babies. They may need intensive care, which will affect the development.
Example, Lack of oxygen, during giving birth can affect the baby’s development.
Poor health, or a physical disability, or impairment, this will limit their developmental opportunities. For example, a child with a medical condition or impairment is less capable to participate in the assorted activities then children of his peers.
This fundamentally affects physical development, but this also can have a detrimental effect, on their social activities, in the playground where they have to intermingle with them.
A child with sensory deficiencies for example, (blindness and deafness,) of these, they will be unable to socialize also be midst of other children of their peerage, of which this is a major part in their personal development. In addition, this could make them become introverted and make them feel, as they do not fit in within their peers.
The said child or young person has emotional developmental problems, as this all depends on their own personal awareness of themselves, regarding to which extent they become affected.
It is imperative all adults who has contact with the child, or young person, understand how they are affected, by the conditions and circumstances, this then enables all staff to fully support them by ensuring they have are included as far as possible.
Learning Difficulties:
Children, whom has learning difficulties should be encouraged to develop to their best of their ability throughout all areas, and so as much as they can. When supporting a child with all of the above or more, we as teaching professionals’ need to take advice and follow any guidelines from the lead professionals whom we have contact with; also this helps us manage their requirements whilst encouraging them to full fill their personal requirements as well as their development.

External Factor, (Pupils’ bacakground and family environment:)
Children may come from many diverse backgrounds like for example, different family environments, cultures and circumstances. Numerous families may transgress through significant alterations this could occur during their early educational years, of which schools do not always fully inform, notify, or make aware of any changes, families to the child or young person home. There could be of been a bereavement, illness, or moving house (away from family or friends they are close too,) or even emigrating or seeking asylum. Any of these mentioned can cause distress and worry, unnecessary.
Parents/carers, who, spend time playing and teaching their children through reading as well as performing various types of hands-on games plus activities as this can have a positive outcome on their child’s development. On the other side, parents whom choose to ignore or neglect to interact with their children they may be hindering their health and social development.
Poverty and deprivation:
Poverty and deprivation, this could have a significant effect on their global pupil development. In addition if a child lives in underprivileged quality homes, damp, cold this could trigger asthma, as well as other breathing difficulties. A deprived diet could affect their daily nourishment for growth plus learning, this will consequently reduce their immune system and development. Furthermore, children with health problems may be absent from either nursery or school as this will affect their social and personal development such as making friends.
Parents, spending quality time with their children or young people, through play or interacting with their children inclusive of reading, also entertaining various, hands-on games and activities. This will have a constructive advantage on children’s learning plus their social development. On the other side, parents who choose to ignore or neglect plus fail interact with their children, could be hindering a social healthy development.

Furthermore some children have come into the education system and have been behind their peers when sometimes home taught, as they have not had the additional support like TA’s, or trips out to support the subject they are being taught, within their home class base.
Children whom have delayed learning difficulties, additionally may be several developmental years behind their peers; this will have a huge delay, whatever they can do in all capacities of development including physical skills, social skills also their intellectual skills. Some children may find it especially difficult to interact with children of their same peerage or else stay interested within a conversation. They may need to have one-to-one TA support within lessons at school this enables them to access the full national curriculum, education system as they may not have been able, as the same cognitive stage as their peers. This may could them feeling left out, however, some children that have a learning disability that is austere enough for them not to realise they are different.
Looked after/within care system:
When the child, enters into the social care system, they always monitor the said child X closely. There are several meetings with the teachers and various professionals, associated within the system. ome
