To dehumanize means to treat someone so horrible as if they are a dog. To take away all their rights and freedom. That is what the Germans did to the jews, I am here to tell you and explain to you just how the Germans did this and what affect it had to the Jews. Elie Wiesel expressed dehumanization strongly in his novel Night. He used his personal experiences and clever simalies to create an image in our heads of what it would have been like if we were there.
Hitler and the Nazis believed that the Jewish race was a wrong race. They believed since Germany lost WW1 they had to pin it on somebody and they decided it should be the Jews. Since Germany had already put it in the head of their citizens that the Jewish people were bad people, it was not so hard to completely turn them against the whole race as a whole.
Hitler and the Germans used a very special tactic to dehumanize the Jews and turn Germany against the Jews. It was called propaganda. The first person to ever try to use this tactic was Josef Goebbles who started to create a very bad representation and image of the Jews by blaming them for the hard economic times in Germany. He believed that if he did this, he would make the jews an inferior race and wanted it to be the stepping stone to eliminate the freedom that the Jews had and to take away their rights,
Everyday, Germans told everyone that the Jewish people should be brought away from society. They told this in all schools, churches, everywhere.
Adolf Hitler was one of the 20 th century's most powerful dictators. He was responsible for World War II and the death of millions. Hitler saw a nation in despair and used this as an opportunity to gain political power. He saw a nation of unemployed and hungry citizens and promised them economic prosperity in return for absolute power. Someone once said "The Nazis rose to power on the empty ...
The effects of propaganda were bigger then expected. Everyone around the world started to ridicule the Jews. a lot of violence also aroused around mainly populated Jewish neighborhoods. Since a lot of people did this to the jews, they were driven into despair and poverty. Just using this one tactic and the hatred against the Jews set the stage for a huge genocide.
Another way the Germans dehumanized the jews was that they passes a bunch of anti-semitic laws that took away the Jewish people’s civil rights, did not allow Christians to marry Jews, stripped them from their jobs and changed their life for the worse.
When these laws first passed on September 15, October 18, and November 15 of 1935. there were these laws called the Nuremberg laws. The Nuremberg laws said that Jewish doctors and Jewish lawyers could not serve anyone. They could only serve other Jewish people. College professors and regular teachers were forced out of their positions and taken over by German teachers. Jewish people that owned shops were forced to sell items to Aryans (The German race that was considered the perfect race: Blonde hair, Blue eyes, White skin) for a quarter of what they are actually worth.
Another Nuremberg law said that Jewish people must always walk around with a star of David sewed into their clothes. For example, a farmer brands his cattle so he can tell the difference between his and his neighbors, the Jewish people were forced to wear the star of David to separate them from society.
The star of David was a very sacred symbol to the Jewish people to the Germans also made a ridicule of this and tried to shame them by making them wear this.
Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass) was a night when the German government ordered an organized persecution against the Jewish people. Jewish stores, homes and synagogues(churches) were burned. They captured over 300,000 men and killed around 200 of them and the rest were sent to concentration camps and either starved or killed there. Broken glass covered the whole street when they were finished, and to add insult to injury, the German government made the Jewish people pay for all the reparations.
Since the Germans lost WW1, Hitler decided it was his time to strike and pin the fall on the Jews. Since everyone in Germany was already mad, they believed him and thus started a holocaust.
Socialization of Jewish people into American community Many different social and ethnic groups have migrated to America to start new lives. Certainly, each of these groups was unique and each group socialized differently. The purpose of this essay is to evaluate the dynamics of socialization of Jewish people that came from different communities all over the world. These people had to learn how to ...
Hitler successfully turned all of Germany against the Jews and killed many innocent men women and children. He is truly the face of all evil and we should all be disgusted by his actions and be disgraced to live in a type of world that does this to people.
