A Day at the Beach Maria
10-8-13
It was a warm, humid sunny day in West Palm Beach, Florida, a perfect day for the beach. We all got our blue, pink, green, and red bathing suits on and decided to head to the glorious beach. My mom, my little sister K., my nephew D., and I all sat in the car and started to drive to a beach. We weren’t sure which one though, but we were going to find the perfect place to spend our day. Every single one of us were anxious to cross that bridge that would lead us to where the beaches were.
We finally found our perfect to spend the day at, I can’t remember the exact name of it, but the street it was off of was unique and really hard to pronounce. We all jumped out of the car once we had finally parked and quickly grabbed our towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, and all of our beach essentials. Once we were at the beach we were out of breath from running so fast. I finally was able to actually look at this fine beach we would be spending our day at, and it was beautiful. The sun was out at its most radiant, the water was sparkling like a diamond, and the air was full of warmth and a hot breeze; it was indeed a perfect spot.
Everyone was anxiously waiting in the warm sand, seeping around our toes, waiting for the approval of my mom to go in to the water. She finally said we could go, we ran as fast as we could. We were careful though, trying to not step on any jelly fish, as this was jelly fish season and they laid all along the coast line. The sand became damper the closer we got to the beach, and finally we hit the water. It felt amazing because it wasn’t too cold yet it wasn’t hot, it was just right. Holding my nephew’s hand we began seeing many shells beneath, washing up and washing away as the waves came and went. My nephew, D., wanted to go much farther into the water, but I refused, I was scared of sharks. It’s silly I know, but I couldn’t help but think “What if”. So I simply decided to stay clear, which did not please D..
The Essay on Not Enough Drinking Water
Pop culture has recently become obsessed with trying to provide clean drinking water to those who do not have it. This is a pathetic issue to choose to fix. These poor people are a waste of space and need to learn how to fix their own problems instead of turning to the reach to fix them. Do you think the rich got rich by relying on other people? No. They found easy solutions to their difficult ...
I decided that it would be fun to find some shells. Most shells are all the same and boring, but once in a while you can find something extraordinary and unique. I found the top of a big shell, it was so pretty with its complicated detailed. I felt so happy to find such a thing. I ran to show my mom, and she said I did a great job. It may only be a piece of a big shell, but considering you can only find the big ones in the deep parts of the ocean, I was ok with what I found. We spent some more time hunting for shells mainly collecting the typical shells you’ll find on any day. Even though they may just be plain and small shells in our eyes; each one of them has a story behind them.
When we began feeling languor from running on the sand, so we decided to sit and relax and make a HUGE sand castle. We grabbed anything we could find to help us with the building, shells, shovels, buckets, twigs and a good spot. You don’t want to build a sand castle in completely dry sand, so we chose a semi damp spot. My little sister, K., had the job of collecting wet sand in to the bucket. I had D. hand me the seashells to decorate our sandcastle, and I was the builder. As we started to pile sand up our sand castle was beginning to come together. Our castle had 4 towers, a flag, and even a water canal surrounding the whole thing. After about an hour, we stood up to better examine our work and we absolutely loved it. We went get my mom to look at our castle, because of course her opinion was always important. We were all so happy when she said that she loved it. Then the news we were dreading to hear, my mom told us it was time to go home. I signed in exasperation.
We were all very sad, and worried. Worried because we didn’t want our castle that we spent so long to do, get destroyed. Then my mom came up with an idea! She told us to take a picture of it, that way we can look at it whenever we want. So we did, but we were still so sad to leave, and we did not want to. I wanted the ocean to come and grab me and turn me in to a fish, or even into a mermaid, so that I could stay here forever; but my sudden wish did not come true. We packed our bags and we slowly walked back up to the car. We were all quiet on the drive back home. That night I slept soundlessly dreaming of the memories at the beach.
The Term Paper on How Does The Drop Height Of The Marble Affect The Size Of The Crater In Sand?
Impact craters are geologic structures formed when a large meteorite, asteroid or comet smashes in to a planet or a satellite. Meteorites are small rocks in space that hit the earth’s atmosphere at a high velocity. Throughout their history they have heavily bombarded all the inner bodies in our solar system. In this experiment we will use marbles as our meteorites, these will be free falling ...
