Difficult Conversation Project People face the situations when they have an opportunity to have a difficult conversation all the time through their lives. Here is an example of the situation when there is definitely difficult conversation may appear. First we are going to summarize the situation that appears to be preceding the difficult conversation. As we all know the relationships between fathers and sons are always considered to be difficult. I will be analyzing the situation from the first face, because i am a student and I definitely am able to face exactly same situation. Here is the background about the situation that i face that is able and eventually creates a difficult conversation situation.
My name is Stan and I just graduated from university, after it took me 6 years of study instead of regular students doing it within 5 years. My dads name is Connor, and we have a pretty friendly relationship between each other. I am an auto fan and cars mean almost everything in my life. I used to have several cars before and it all started up from the financial credit that was provided by my father Connor. This all began when I was a second year university student and had financial instability. I had one of the difficult conversations with my dad and my argumentation was so strong that he decided to give me the opportunity to own a car.

This was a nice BMW 320. But we are not going to focus on that conversation because we are going to focus on the one that is more resent. The reason to can be understood by investigating the things that happened after my purchase. Due to some coincidence I started to give much more attention to my car than to any other thing in my life including the studying at university, which was actually my primary thing to do. I was considering more about the issues of how to make enough money to be able to own the Beemer, and in the initial conversation I promised to be a descent student, no matter the fact that I own a car. But this was not the case because I quit the university and got a descent job to have enough money to satisfy the needs that were the core ones at the moment. My dad Connor was pissed off by the fact because he was really the one initiating the idea of getting the university education for me and he was paying all the expenses of it during the first two years and, taking into consideration the thing I have done, the two years worth of education was flushed down the toilet.
The next thing that happens after me owning a Beemer and several other ones, because of the fact that I was selling and buying them again many times, my car gets into a terrible accident driven by some other person. It was not worth repairing it so it was sold as car parts and the guy that was the cause of the accident paid me the money difference. But that did not satisfy me and I had wasted the finances and lost the job at the same time. So I had a dilemma that was offered by my dad to go back to university at his expense and MAYBE, if I graduate he will give me the finances again to by another car. I took my mind up and agreed to the offer. Finally now I graduated and got a descent job at a big company.
But I did not forget the conversation about the automobile purchasing event and I am about to have a difficult conversation, similar to one that I had two years ago, but much more difficult because of the fact of one year delay and overall misbehaving during the times that I used to have a car. Here is how I prepared for this conversation. First of all I considered a problem of the necessity of having a car for such devoted to the engines industry products person and set the goal of receiving the proper funding for the purchase. I remembered all the arguments that were on my side, including the fact that I graduated from the university and actually I was promised to possibly have a great opportunity to get the necessary funds. The second argument was the fact that I had a descent job that would make me pay the amount credited shortly, around one year. The third and the most significant to me argument was the fact that ASS (Auto Sport Specialist) is loosing qualification by the fact that he is not having a car to continue the education on a subject.
The Essay on Matters Of Fact Hume Ideas Future
FUTURE OCCURENCES In An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, David Hume demonstrates how there is no rational way to make any claims about future occurrences. According to his way of thinking, knowledge of matters of fact comes from previous experience. From building on this rationale, Hume goes on to prove how, as humans, we can only make inferences (as opposed to statements) on what will ...
Having all these ideas in my head I visited my dads house on a weekend, to have this difficult conversation. Here the conversation goes: DOOR OPENER Stan- Hallo dad, what a beautiful day today, how are you at this beautiful spring day? Dad- Fine, thanks, how are you. DOOR OPENER Stan- Great, because we have such a nice weather today and I have come up with a great idea that may interest you as well. You know I always have great ideas coming during such nice days, especially having a weekend today. Dad- What is the idea? SENDING THE MESSAGE Stan- The idea is one of the usual ones, but this is the best timing for it. Remember the conversation that we used to have some two years ago about the necessity of purchasing a vehicle for me upon my graduation from the university.
DIVERTING Dad- Not really, what was it about? REFLECTING Stan- Well you sad that upon my graduation, you will help me financially in the idea of purchasing the vehicle. DIAGNOSING Dad- Maybe I sad that but I am taking my words back. INFREQUENT QUESTION Stan- Why is that? MORALIZING Dad- Because I already purchased you a vehicle once, and it did not do any good to you. INVOLVEMENT Stan- Yes you did but we came up once later that this would happen again. JUDGING Dad- I said that even if I said that, I take it back. You are not able to maintain descent life once you have a vehicle. INVOLVEMENT Stan- Yes, but that was long ago and now I became smarter and wiser, so I will not repeat the mistakes that I had done already.
The Essay on To what extent are business start up ideas down to luck?
There are many ways in which a business opportunity and idea is spotted and created. Sometimes the creations of these are ideas are sometimes down to luck, at other times due to creativity and knowledge. Many ideas for a successful business come from people who have experience working in a particular market or industry. This creates many advantages for the success of this idea: it provides a ...
MORALIZING Dad- I dont think so. I dont see that you have become wise enough to have a car. FOLLOWING Stan- Now I have a descent job, so I will be able to give you your funds back shortly, and as you see, I am able to maintain the car easily. JUDGING Dad- So why dont you go get it yourself. REFLECTIVE Stan- Because I have not proper funds for it, and you do, plus you know that I am loosing qualification by not having one. REASSURING Dad- I am not going to change my mind, until I decide so, therefore dont bother me with this kind of good ideas that often visit you. INVOLVEMENT Stan- So how are we going to solve this situation, you know it is a difficult one. ORDERING Dad- I can offer you to be your banker, so that I can save your money for you and when it will be enough to do the purchase, you will do it with great effort. Stan- But this may take years for me to save the descent amount, to make a purchase, I might even loose my interest in the kind of a purchase. JUDGING Dad- I dont think you will, but I can definitely tell you that if you purchase the vehicle with your own money, it will do you better than if I am going to help you with it.
You are going to be able to give a necessary value to the purchase and to the car, if you do it yourself, without my help on it. Stan- But what about the skills that are passing away, and moreover are not being gained. Dad- This is something that we probably could fix somehow. What ideas about it do you have? FOCUSING ON SOLUTION Stan- (After a while of thinking) Ok. I know that you have a car, what do you think about giving me the opportunity to take it for example once a week for a drive. Dad- Sounds good to me, what about Saturdays? Stan- Pretty good, because I have much of free time on the day, lets start next Saturday. CRITICIZING Dad- OK, what about your plan of purchasing your own vehicle, dont you think that I offered a good deal, by proposing to be your banker for a period of time, for you.
Stan- I agree with you but I have to think about it, lets postpone the decision on this issue. Dad- Ok. Than we continued the conversation on some minor topics and those were not really difficult points to communicate about. The objective in a successful communication between any two or more individuals is not only to understand the view point of the other individual, but it is equally important that one’s message is equally understood by him or her. An example to this effect is that of a government employee giving lectures on the importance of high quality pesticides to a group of farmers. Yet the discussion of the two can easily result in a heated argument, ….
