Religious Beliefs in Early B. C. Period Since the beginning of time people have searched and studied very hard to find a religious practice that would sooth there soul. People have always found something or someone to worship. There are still many religious groups or churches that believe opposite of each other. The religious groups or churches of people usually have a book or some form of religious laws in which they try to live by.
Some even have steps of achievement and are working hard to please the Lord, so they will not go to hell in the end or when they die a physical death. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he is the son of the only God, which created all of the universe. I do believe in the Bible in its entirety. I am a member of a Southern Baptist Church, which is an organization.
I was brought up in a Baptist church in which my father was the pastor in. He is a very intelligent man, and I believe that he would not have shared with me about Jesus if he did not believe with all of his heart. I say this, because he loves me very much and would not want me to believe in something that would keep me from entering the gates of heaven. I say I am Baptist, but that has grown into a large number of churches. These many Baptist churches; although, titled the same do not believe everything identically. Most religious organizations in the world have always and still believe in some form of afterlife; although, these images of heavens and hells are very different and unique in there own ways.
The Term Paper on Eighteenth Century Catholic Religious Church
The radical change in European society from an almost completely religious civilization in the early sixteenth century into a basically secular civilization by the end of the eighteenth century was a very long process which did not directly begin in the early sixteenth century. The initial sign of sparks that would ignite the flame first appeared during the thirteenth century. While proven visibly ...
People believe that they can achieve the right to go to the better of the two places in many different ways. Some religions believe that heaven is a place where only Gods chosen people the Israelites will go. Some religious groups believe that heaven can only be reached by sharing the word of there God with others. This same group believes that good deeds and living a moral life will put their feet on the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea. Some religious groups have a set schedule with workbooks, memorization of biblical passages, and the taking of the Lords Supper will put them in heaven. I believe that for a person to go to heaven that they must acknowledge that there is only one true and living God.
The person must confess to the God that they are a sinner and ask for forgiveness of their sins. A person must make these commitments with all there heart. It is not hard to tell if a person is a true Christian because it will show in there daily life. As far back as man has recorded data archeologist have found that where there was once a village or group of people there is signs of a religious practices.
This signs stretch all over the worlds land. It is hard for me to believe that years ago when transportation across the oceans and across the worlds tough terrain, that the news of a God could not have traveled to all of these different lands by word of mouth back then. I believe that there is something in peoples souls and hearts that makes them believe in a god that created them somehow. This is a good thing it shows something that it rarely seen in nowadays societies and it is appreciation and thankfulness for life. These people not only praise God for creating them a world to live in on Earth, but are appreciative for a place where they can spend the rest of eternity worshiping in praise with the Lord Jesus Christ and all of there brothers and sisters in Christ. In The Aen ied there is a place known as the Elysian Fields.
It is a heavenly like place. It portrays beautiful lands and is a place of peacefulness. It is like what most people expect heaven to be like. What a wonderful place. It is a place that I truly long for. It is a place that I would not miss for all the worlds riches.
I am sure up there no one cares what anyone ever had, where they lived, or what occupation they had. It is the place where I will get to have a reunion with people that have gone on before me that I truly love. The thought of this reunion is the only thing that gives my mind and heart peace today. It seems almost to good to be true to too many people, so they deny the Lord.
The Term Paper on Storms Of Life God Lord Jesus
The Storms of Life: What's He Doing There once was a man who dreamed he was at the end of his life. He saw his life as if it were a walk along a beach with Jesus. As he looked back over his life he saw two sets of footprints in the sand along most of the way - one set belonging to him, the other to Jesus. He noticed, though, that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of ...
I feel sorry for these people who are blinded by there unbelieving of the Bible and there ignorance of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope that if you learn nothing else from teaching this class at Newport you learn that there is a student that believes overwhelmingly in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that he cares not only for his own soul, but he cares for your soul as well. He wishes that in many more years from now; he will be singing with Jesus and a heavenly host of angels praising the Lord for this great life in heaven and see you walk through those pearly gates and join in the heavenly choruses with him. In the epic The Aeneid there is a character that is a prototype of the ideal Roman ruler. His name is Aeneas and he is a heroic being to many. There are many reasons why he is known asa hero to many.
If he believed in a cause he would stand up for it and fight for it. He is shown the differences between the Elysian fields and Tartarus, and this could be a contributing factor for his wisdom. The Elysian Fields are a lot like heaven. The Elysian Fields cannot be entered by anyone, but only by the good.
It as a overwhelmingly beautiful place and the air is filled with peace. He also entered a place like hell, Tartarus. Tartarus is a place for the evil and is lacking beautiful things. Also, Aeneas was a Trojan prince and he survived in all the battles against the Greeks. Many believe that he survived the wars because it was his fate to discover Italy. I believe he is supposed to discover Italy and rule there because of his strong will to survive.
He also learned in these wars what it took to survive and out last others. I am sure that is what kind of leader Italy needed or any other country for that matter. He was not just given Italy. He went on a very long search to find the land, this includes the search throughout the under grounds. To discover Italy was really a dream of his fathers, so Aeneas went on the long journey with him not having any idea of where the journey would lead or what the outcome would be.
Faith Journey Reflective Essay
Our faith is a lifelong journey. You move from stage to stage throughout your faith journey before you actually know what your faith actually is and what you actually believe in. First is the child hood stage, where you believe in what your parents tell you and follow in their footsteps of faith. Next is the adolescent stage, where you question your faith and what you truly believe, and then is ...
His father left the earth and Aeneas in a visit to Sicily, so the buried him around there. He did not give up he traveled on to find Italy. On his journey he later came back through Sicily and soon after he was led to the underground where there he had a vision of his father. His father gave him instructions of where to go. This vision is what finally led Aeneas’ blood to the discovery and taking over of the land known as present day Italy. Aeneas showed great faith in his father and wanted nothing more than to find this place, that his father wanted.
Aeneas went on a long journey that sometimes led him in circles. He was sometimes desperate, but did not lose his faith. He kept going hoping, believing, and searching for an answer. This is how we should be today.
We should search through the readings of the Bible. In our journey on this world we should try to do right, not lose faith in the Lord, and keep living our life with a goal of reaching heaven. To Aeneas present day Italy was his goal. To us, heaven should be our goal. It is possible to reach it, but it is not a free gift we have to believe and repent and live our life for it.
This is the strongest tie I found between Aeneas and I. I hope Have the lasting faith of Aeneas. Wok CitedRodu, Brad. “Aeneid and Odyssey” Tribune Review.
