As our company was a concentration organization originally, we found ourselves asking, how much further could we take this business? Our first goal of building a manufacturing plant in northern Maine was a success far beyond what we expected. Now that we have launched the concentric diversification market strategy, we have realized the high demand for our product and we are ready to move to the second and third phase of our plans. The second phase of our strategic plan involves adding a team for national sales and distribution.
Each sales team member will first and foremost be chosen and hired based on their location, which will be our larger cities or where most of our competitors are housed. These team members will be representatives of particular territories and regions for the sales and distribution of our products. We would like to find seasoned sales people, who are able to work out of their own home offices and travel as necessary. By establishing the representatives this way, we keep down overhead costs of office buildings, supplies and other miscellaneous expenses that coexist with a tangible office location.
The goal of our sales team will be to oversee the entire process from sales to delivery of our product. They will need to meet certain quotas and will be rewarded for their achievements if they exceed these goals. Our team members must be able to work independently and without constant super vision in order to reach their sales goals. They will all report to the Director of Sales, who will be located in the corporate office. It has also been determined that this team will be formed under a divisional organization structure.
The Essay on Learning Team Behaviour Time Jerry Members
Introduction In order to understand the basic functioning of a system, you must first come to understand what each individual part contributes to the whole. Getting to what makes Learning Team A (LTA) is no different. The question then becomes, "How best to gain insight into the individuals on the team?" This week the creation of the final paper fell to me, we also concluded that we needed to ...
As we embark on our vision for the future, we realize that a divisional organization may start off being one layer of horizontal structure. Our reasoning for choosing such an advanced form of organization was to allow each team member their own task and that the team member would know their ultimate goal and task and be able to implement said task (Bateman & Snell, 2011).
As we grow the company can either embellish the current structure or reevaluate and create a new organizational structure altogether.
I have attached the above mentioned organizational chart for your review. As we begin this second phase, the need for a human resources department will be imperative. In order to achieve the high quality of staff we desire, we will need to create a human resources department in order to develop criteria needed for each position that will be offered. They will need to create a process that will allow us to find the best candidates for the position and establish guidelines for the hiring process.
An example of what they may establish is a criminal background check, credit check and reference check. The human resources department will also be required to create and enforce policies and procedures. These policies and procedures will be set in place in order to provide a good flow and offer stability within the working environment of the company. A few of these policies will allow the sales team to have structure and set the expectations that upper management may have for them.
Each team member will be responsible for following these policies and procedures and allow Down East Spud Busters to be a desirable place to work. I would like to implement a marketing director in the second phase as well. By using well-trained marketing executives, we will be able to advertise to the public and allow all demographics to desire the product. Once Down East Spud Busters has built a name, it will allow our sales team to be able to move the product. This will allow us to then progress toward our third and inal phase of our strategic plan. The third phase of our strategic planning would be to build additional facilities to produce more potatoes which will allow us to possibly reach out all throughout the continent and possibly in other locations worldwide. I believe this goal is attainable in three to five years. Once our product has visited a vast majority of supermarket chains, smaller grocers, restaurant and hotels and government institutional kitchens, we will be at a better place to expand beyond the North American continent.

As an employee who has been with Down East Spud Busters since the beginning, I am proud to be a part this bright and successful future. Looking back, I have seen growth and success within our local market, huge success we have encountered by expanding the business, and can envision the victory that is yet to come.
