A Riv Dying With Religion Wars occur for many reasons. There may be one main reason or a few specific reasons as to why war was declared in the first place. One thing that never changes in war is the fact that there will always be two sides fighting against each other for what they believe in. Death is also acquainted with war and soldiers in war tend to think about life and death every moment they are able to.
During the time in which a soldier thinks he is going to die he may pray to God or any other that he prays to and he will ask for forgiveness and to be saved. Atheists do not believe in God or in having any religion whatsoever. So how would an atheist react if he did not believe in a religious figure that might possibly give him the chance to survive. “There are no atheists in the foxholes” does make sense yet not every war being fought is a religious war, so even though religion does play a big part there must be atheists in the foxholes. Death. Death is what many fear most and at times when a person is near death they involuntarily pray in order to try to save themselves at the last possible moment.
After the moment passes the soldier doesn’t even think twice about it. Even though it does seem that they weren’t sincere the soldiers really are. In what seems the last moments of a soldiers life when he does pray he must be sincere. He must show his belief in God or another to save him from hell or death in order to create some sort of hope. If the prayer wasn’t sincere then the soldier wouldn’t expect God to reach down and pluck him from danger. Atheists fight wars but not over religion.
The Essay on Post-war Soldier And Civilian Expectations Of The British Government
British soldiers and civilians had high expectations of their government following World War 1, most of which did not eventuate. The soldiers needed understanding of their suffering and emotional pains of the war, while the British civilians felt that Germany’s reparations were highly important in the short-term. Employment was a significant issue to both groups, with the soldiers arriving ...
At some point in war religion comes up but does that mean since atheists don’t believe in heaven or hell do they still fight or do they just hide. Not having a religion could even be more of an incentive to fight and give it everything, because they have no reason to be afraid of hell or worry about the judgment of God. Atheists seem to be most of the people in the foxholes. Now if a highly religious person went to war they would have a problem killing people. Going to war and saying, “I am going to kill in the name of God” does not seem like an appropriate response from a highly religious person. Facing death would be more of a problem for a religious person since they might die and won’t have time to save themselves by repenting their sins.
In the name of religion there are some things a person should not do including killing other human beings. Atheists on the other hand are free from this weight of heaven and hell. The foxholes of war are filled with atheists not just people who have a religion. Nothing good ever comes through war except maybe freedom and the promotion of democracy.
The ones who give others freedom most likely are not of any religion, because they are the ones who went to war and killed for the freedom. It seems unfair to send out people who would be crushed spiritually than to send people who aren’t affected by religion. In most wars the belief in a certain religion can lead to weakness and of course religion is sacred to many.
