An earthquake, one of the most destructive natural disaster, consists of rapid vibrations of rock near the surface of the earth. It is the most terrifying of all natural disasters and has brought fear since ancient times because of its sudden unpredictable occurrence and enormous capacity of destruction. Earthquakes can effect earth, people, and property in everyday lives. Earthquakes change the earth’s formations in different ways. Eyewitness reporter, Steven Nguyen, from Sacramento, California wrote in his blog “A Rough Commute.” “The scar of the quake is plain to see-a jagged line of raw earth tracing across miles of tomato fields.” Nguyen is describing his experience of seeing the aftermath of an earthquake force. This is just one earthquake and one field; imagine all the effects of all the earthquakes worldwide. Earthquakes can also affect the lives of even millions. News reporter Olivia Esposito, from San Francisco California wrote in her news article “LOMA PRIETA EARTHQUAKE.”

Think about how many lives have been effected in quakes everywhere. Earthquakes can lead to billions in repairs for property damage. Which would led that country to become bankrupt and if it wasn’t for all the donations from countries like U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Italy, and Brazil that country still stands today. Earthquakes affect the earth, people, and property in multiple ways. Earthquakes tear open earth, injure/kill people, and earth quakes cause property damage.
