Taking the test was easy but trying to understand the purpose of certain questions was the problem. Some questions were hard to answer because you are asked your opinion when it’s difficult to answer because of the situation within the question. Emotional Intelligence is an ability to recognize the meanings of emotions and their relationships, and to reason and problem-solve on the basis of them. Emotional Intelligence is involved in the capacity to perceive emotions, assimilate emotion-related feelings, understand the information of those emotions, and manage them” (Queendom, 2013).

Emotional Intelligence is not a substitute for ability, knowledge or job skill, it is hypothesized to enhance outcomes. Behavior theories- a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Cognitive theories- a theory focused on internal states like motivation, problem solving, decision-making, thinking and attention. Developmental theories- provides a structure for thinking about human growth, development, and learning. Humanist theories- emphasizes the basic goodness of human beings.
Personality theories deal with the patterns of thoughts, feelings and behavior that make a person unique. Social psychology theories- focuses on helping us understand and explain social behavior. Learning theories- focuses on how people learn and acquire new knowledge (Cherry, 2013).
All these theories reflect on Emotional Intelligence and have their own qualities. The history of the field of Emotional intelligence is still being written as we speak of it. Emotional Intelligence is important because it sets the stage for our ability to succeed at life.
Achievement is the award for having healthy levels of emotional intelligence. Our level of EQ is important because our emotions motivate us to pursue our unique potential or purpose and as such it is our feelings that activate our life force or personal power. It is important that we develop our emotional skills because our emotional intelligence has such a large impact on our success in life. (Chancellor, 2013) Here are three ways to enhance emotional intelligence: 1. Not interrupting someone’s conversation 2. Connecting your feelings with your thoughts 3.
