During the period of Dark Age, man has to kill other man just to survive and society has lost its meaning. Furthermore chaos dictated all the rule of human. But out of all that despair there is a boy cleric who lived on the countryside of France and devoted himself in the service of his god. From the starting point of his priesthood he has learn to purge all his emotions and desire. In addition his conservative nature has help the boy survived on many occasions of limited resource.
However, even boy with a pure heart has his moment of weakness. In the beginning of his childhood he always has a goldfish as a pet. But during the tenth of his life local warlord raided his village. Unfortunately he survived the attack and he was forced to eat his pet goldfish for nutrient. Since then he has blamed himself for the death of his goldfish and never recovery from that trauma again. That is when he decided to join the priesthood to cleanse all the sins out of him.
The teaching of priest persuades himself to forget about the trauma. However deep inside his heart he still wish to recant his action of eating the goldfish. Repeatedly the boy tried to hold himself together to forget the goldfish incident. But every time the cruel memory of his past haunts him like a wraith. As he mourns over the death of his goldfish, he knocks over an old dusty bookshelf. The fragile walls of the bookshelf break into million pieces upon impact.
Shocked by the blunder he has done the boy rush over tried to clean it. However, out of all the debris he discovers a brown book with the title? SS Journal of Friar Holden.” The strange pattern of the cover intrigues the curiosity of the boy. He opens the tattered book cover and blows the ancient dust away. As the boy read through the pages he discovers friar Holden was a crazy bastard who like to complain about every single detail of life. Furthermore he notices there is a section of the journal that is missing and that section was the turning point between Holden converts into a friar and his crazy past. With each page the book intrigues the boy more and more.

Then at the end of the last chapter it described the insane friar went to the local rye field of a Norse town called “Caulfield.” The boy checks the record of that town and notice after friar Holden went the rye field he was never heard again. Driven by this puzzle of curiosity the boy decided to go to Caulfield and search for the mysterious rye field. As he enters the Caulfield the thunderstorm around the area cease immediately. Then the sun shatters the cluster of cloud with intense spectrum of dread blue. Terrified by this strange phoneme all the local town folks went into their home. However, the boy wasn’t daunted by this strange act of divine and he continue search the location of the rye field.
Finally he discovers a stack rip pages of book stuck under an abandon wagon. He picks up the page and starts to read it. Those pages were the missing section from the crazy friar’s journal. The information it contains further surprises the boy. The entry describe about a twist beast of unimaginable power that appears every ten years at the town’s rye field and who ever catch the genie shall gets hold of its power.
When the boy raises his head a rye field burgeon in front of him in the matter of a few seconds. Suddenly the field undulating in circular pattern, and it form a cyclone of green mist that covers the border. The rapid decreasing inner pressure vacuum the boy inward to the center. Lighting and thunder dance with each other as the wind grew stronger and stronger. Then out of nowhere clusters of red mist and particles of dried flesh appear in mid air.

Even more a strange static force consolidates particles of flesh into a ghostly figure of half-man half-goldfish. Not only large clusters of meat fibers began to emerge but they also petrified into segments of bones. After the basic bone structure of the goldfish man was created the dried pieces of flesh swarm around the bone like flies around a dead camel. When the heart of the beast finishes its construction it pump violent like a horse on steroid. The dangling limbs vibrate in a humming pattern and the beast start mumble in a mystical tone. The boy realized if he ever wants to catch the beast he must do it now, as a result he thrust his fist into the chest of the beast and rips out its heart.
Suddenly all the lighting, thunder and the green mist dissipate into the surrounding. Then the half complete gold fish man crawls toward the boy and begs the boy to return its heart in a screaming shriek. He commend the goldfish men to grant his wish or else. Enraged by his proposal the beast refuses to accept the deal. However, the beast knows that every second it live without its heart every fragment of its body will decay.
Therefore it accepts the offer only and only if the boy promises to return his heart. He knows he has upper hand and the beast wouldn’t risk its life to do anything stupid. As a result the boy accept the deal as well. Then the boy makes his wish. He wishes the half-gold fish half-man became his servant forever.
Just as the beast accept the wish and the boy return its heart the beast laugh in an incredible loud voice. Taunted by this laugh the boy threatens the beast. However, the beast regains its strength and rip off his arms. Then the boy screams in horror as he watches his blood gush out of his body like a geyser. The beast informs the boy “I will become your but you can never commend me.” After a few second the goldfish men explode its flesh into the eyes, ear and tongue of the boy. Consequently he shrieks louder and louder.
