Here’s the question: The Classification Assignment: Look into someone’s refrigerator. List all the foods you find there. Then write an essay that uses classification to describe the contents on the list. Your essay’s purpose is to examine what the food in the refrigerator reveals about the foods’ owner or the culture in general. Your thesis will develop from that purpose. Divide the items on your list into categories based on a ruling principle that fits your purpose. Choose a ruling principle that helps you make a meaningful observation and an interesting thesis. Some suggestions for classifying strategies might be food groups, the length of time in storage, the source of foods, the packaging, the texture, or any other principle that might yield interesting results. Use your own judgment.
Essay #1: Classification
You Are What You Eat
When looking around in someone’s home, you can find many objects that reflect their individuality. From the color of paint on the walls, to the type of flooring they have, it is purely their own self-expression. I have taken a look inside my parents’ refrigerator, and found that this too is a reflection of their personalities. The food items located in the refrigerator state several things about them. For one, the substances found show they try to go food shopping once every couple of weeks. Secondly, they try to accommodate all sittings by buying items that could be used at different times of the day for various meals. Lastly, it was obvious they eat at least one fruit or vegetable with every portion of food they consume.
The Term Paper on Is Fast Food to Blame For Childhood Obesity
Has the enjoyable tastes of a double bacon cheeseburger with extra everything, large fry, and a diet coke really had an effect on the obesity epidemic? The choice of picking this meal, which is fast and efficient enough to hit the spot and cure hunger, is caused by having fast food restaurants around every corner. People are so fast paced in today’s society that the number of home cooked meals has ...
In my research, I found that there were not any spoiled items, rotten fruit or vegetables, moldy cheese, or stale dairy products. There was an expiration date on approximately 75% of the items found. Apparently, my parents heed to all dates marked on the labels, because there were not any substances found that were past their deadlines. This shows that they have orderly and timely characteristics. Also, I observed that when a much used product was almost spent, it was immediately replaced. For instance, while a quarter-cup of milk was left in one jug, I found a new un-opened jug sitting beside it. This advocates their structured traits.
It’s very logical to buy foods that can be used over and over again for different meals. In this case, you could easily cook a single meal or several meals with some of the same products that were found. One item I found that is very flexible is cheese. It could potentially be melted over scrambled eggs for breakfast, or put on a sandwich with lunch meat, or even baked over pasta for dinner. This illustrates their versatility and resourcefulness.
Out of the many food groups I observed in their refrigerator, the one that stood out most was the fruit and vegetable group. There was an overwhelming amount of produce. This told me that they most likely snack a great deal on fruits and vegetables, or they have at least one serving of them with each meal. From lemons to grapes, and celery to squash, there were many different types to choose from. This provides evidence that they live a healthy and conscious lifestyle.
In closing, you would be surprised how much you’re able to find out about a person by looking at their possessions. Searching through their appliances is a less ordinary form, but it is very conclusive. It can’t tell you as much about that particular person as reading through their diary, but it enables you to see their likes and dislikes, whether they’re tidy or cluttered, and you could probably even guess their ethnic descent just by looking in their refrigerator. My parents represent every trait, avidly, that I withdrew from my findings. Although it is strange, it’s true.
The Essay on Item Store Box Product
Before going into Phase II, I didnt really feel anything out of the ordinary. I have been in that store a few times, and dont find it offensive in any way. My only feeling about being in that store is a sense of sexual overload on the senses. There is so much sexually oriented material there that it is almost overwhelming. I drove there with three friends from my house, who are also in the HDF S ...
