The laws on assisted suicide states, it is illegal. However, in the late nineteenth century, proposals to legalize euthanasia start to rise. Debates on the voluntary killing of the terminally ill patients became a main discussion point in many countries. In 1906, a bill was brought up in the Ohio legislature which caused an uproar of controversy. Those against believed people would abuse this right to do away with any physically demanding relatives, or that doctors would use this it to cover up for any malpractice. Although this bill was denied, it started a whole new movement in several countries. In 1935 a group in Britain founded the Voluntary Euthanasia Society. A year later, parliament voted that terminally ill patients will not be allowed the right to euthanasia. In 1937 an author named G.K. In some ways people are for euthanasia and others not. Recently, the husband of a woman named Terry Schiavo chose to euthanasia his wife. Schiavo had no say in the matter because she was in a vegetative state. The father and mother of Schiavo tried to everything they could to stop the killing of their daughter, but the court trail held was won by Schiavo’s husband. Her death brought great support for the legalization of euthanasia, and also great anger of many anti-euthanasia persons in the public.
Abortion is a large controversial topic, ever since Roe v. Wade. This led to the legalization of abortion in the United States. For instance if a woman becomes pregnant, and knows that she would not be able provide adequate care for her baby could end it’s life without having to endure the hardships of a poor or abusive life. Another instance, if a patient who is in critical condition and is suffering, wants a assisted suicide, a physician could stop the patient’s suffering. All of these examples do have positive effects, but the easy way out is always the best. Euthanasia will lead to a world that takes the easy way out. The death count of those with assisted suicide or abortion have exceeded the population of Canada. This nation could benefit so much more by ending assisted suicide. The doctors could work on medicine to help the incurable patients, or even find a cure.

Euthanasia is considered mercy killing. Actually it is a easy way to stupid teenage girls, or to families that have a relative they have to pay the medical bills for. Unless the person is willing to die and in great pain, or is in a vegetative state but previously granted to be put to death if in this state, should be allowed the right to euthanasia. Where as back in the early days of United States, the man and women would be lynched without trial. Now Here in America, it is illegal to murder someone, but euthanasia is not. That is not right.
